Protecting your Binance account protects your assets, and 2-factor authentication/authorization (2FA) is one way to add a layer of protection. How do you set up 2-factor authorization on your Binance account? What steps do you need to take? You can learn more about Binance account security features by contacting customer support here, and below is more information on 2FA for your account.

What is 2FA?

Two-factor authorization or 2FA is just another way to secure your Binance account to prevent hackers from stealing your information or assets. 2FA uses a six-digit code to confirm identify and process transactions. Binance requires 2FA to make withdrawals from your account, so it's best to set it up as soon as you open your account.

Setting up 2FA on Binance

You can set up 2FA on your Binance account using the Google Authenticator app. To set up 2FA, follow these steps:

  1. Open Binance and log into your account.
  2. Tap "Profile" to go into your profile settings.
  3. Select "Security" and then "Binance/Google Authenticator."
  4. Turn on "Binance/Google Authenticator"
  5. Tap the right pointing arrow in the Binance app to continue.
  6. You will receive a 16-digit code that will be your authentication code. Store this code in a secure location.
  7. Select copy, then enter the 16-digit code you stored.
  8. Download the Google Authenticator app on your device.
  9. In the Google Authenticator app, enter the set up key, Binance account info and your 16 digit authentication code and hit "Enter."
  10. You will receive a six-digit code.
  11. Return to the Binance app to verify the authentication code is working.

Setting up 2FA for your Binance account helps protect your information and funds from potential hacking and theft. Binance requires all users enable 2-factor authorization in order to make any withdrawals from the account. This protects the user from unauthorized transactions. If 2FA is not activated on your account, you will be reminded to set it up at each login.

Binance works to protect consumer information, and you can do your part by setting up 2FA on your account. For more information on Binance account security, contact customer support here.
