When you call PETCO's customer service phone number, you're greeted by an automated message system.

Press 1 to manage your rewards, press 2 to place a new order, press 3 to check the status of your order, press 4 for information about PETCO's Vital Care Premier program (I believe that's what it said, it was a bit difficult to understand), press 5 for any other inquiries, and press 9 to repeat the phone menu. Based on a quick online search, Vital Care Premier seems to be PETCO's pet insurance program.

If you select 9 to repeat the options two times in a row, the system doesn't actually repeat the phone menu a second time; it transfers you to a representative, which is a bit odd but I suppose helpful nonetheless. I actually did just want to hear the phone menu again to make sure I'd heard everything correctly, but hey, at least I know there's a bit of a shortcut to reaching a representative!

With the opening phone menu, there's no alternative language option such as Spanish or French, and no immediate option to speak to a representative, although pressing 5 for all other inquiries will have you transferred; the option just isn't represented as a route to speaking to an actual human. Overall, not the best automated message system, but not the worst either. Improvements can be made for greater accessibility.

Aside from that, once I did get in touch with an actual human, the person I spoke to was awesome! She was very friendly and helpful, and I really appreciated her assistance.
