Hi, I took out my Zipcar student membership yesterday and booked a car through the app. My trip time was for an hour from *-*pm, but the app was malfunctioning and I was unable to successfully lock the car within the timeframe. I wasn't able to extend the time either since another person had booked it immediately after. So I kept trying to restart the car to see if I could lock and unlock it, but it didn't work. The app finally responded after I tried for ** minutes and it got locked at *.**pm. I had a similar issue while I tried to start the car at *pm, but it worked within a couple of minutes. And due to this issue, my trip was charged with a late fee of **$ and I kindly request that I be refunded the late fee. I spoke to a customer service representative regarding this and he said that I will be contacted by the company via email regarding the refund status. He also advised me to place a call immediately if such an issue happens again, so I request you to consider this as a one time issue which will not happen again. Thank you.

I reached out to the customer service over the phone after my account was charged for the additional price and explained the issue I had faced. I was told that I'd be contacted by the Zipcar team with a solution. I also wrote out an email and the issue was solved within a day and the refund was processed. I also learnt that if such issues happened next time, it's better to call the customer care number immediately so that they could help you get it fixed.
