watch the music video ... A band called BTS recently released a Music Video for a song called 'IDOL'. There was great anticipation towards the music video which resulted in it getting more than ** million views in the first ** hours of release, breaking the previous record held by Taylor Swift. However, soon after, the views for the music video were frozen at about ** million views, and this stayed frozen for about ** hours. During these ** hours, YouTube gave little reason as to why the views where frozen, they just kept on telling people that this was normal and they were checking the views for bots, but does it really take ** hours to do this? **Additionally, after the views were unfrozen, only about ***,*** views were added to the view count which is absolutely atrocious considering how many views per hour the music video had been getting (about *-* million each hour). Can YouTube give me any other examples of video views being frozen for this amount of time only for the views garnered during the freeze NOT to be added afterwards? It's ridiculous and unjustified. **Can YouTube make an official statement as to why the views were frozen, why they were frozen for such a long time and can they please answer the question as to where millions of views that were gained during those ** hours went because they obviously didn't just vanish into thin air.**Finally, YouTube should not make unjustified and false claims against artists that are using their platform and bringing customers to that platform. There is an image going around twitter of an email from YouTube, roughly telling the band, BTS to stop telling their fans to contact YouTube. This is extremely unprofessional and comes with ABSOLUTELY no evidence that they had done that. BTS fans decided, on their own, to contact YouTube regarding the issue and kept on sending them messages because YouTube did not respond to their queries* maybe if YouTube responds to fans regarding these issues and stop giving the same automated response then fans would stop sending them messages.**Sincerely, a concerned customer.
fans tried so hard to watch the music video and make the band members happy yet YouTube are making this extremely hard.
Making an official statement as to their reasons why this has happened and state how they wold resolve the issue
