The issue in GetHuman2601233's own words
I rent out half (**%) of my home as an apartment. I called it multifamily (type *) on schedule E.*When asking for my mortgage interest and property tax amounts, intuit turbo tax explicitly said to input ***% of the amount(s) and they will do the calculation for me but after filing and printing my tax forms, I can see that calculation did NOT happen correctly. There are *.* times the amount for each deduction. Instead of putting half the amount of the deduction(s) on Schedule E and the other half on schedule A it added ***% of each figure PLUS **% of the same figure for a total deduction of ***% of the amounts of my property tax and mortgage interest and input that figure on Schedule A, which I do not think is accurate. If I was supposed to calculate the percentage of my rental unit on my own then turbo tax should not say to input ***% of the amount(s) and it should not allow me to also add ***% of the deduction under personal.

GetHuman2601233 did not yet indicate what Turbo Tax should do to make this right.
