The issue in GetHuman-gwenhelo's own words
I was in the Lakewood, Colorado store on Vance Street on August **th. I went to Target to get a couple of things and I typically go with my son and take him in the stroller up the elevator after daycare. I was alone that day but took the elevator out of habit not thinking, and as soon as the door closed, the elevator started to go up and come down slamming really hard when I came down. This happened nonstop for ** minutes. It literally would go up smoothly and come crashing down, slamming me down NONSTOP for ** minutes. I had a low percentage on my phone battery and had to call my boyfriend freaking out, so he could call the store because the guy from the elevator alert button couldn't figure out information to help me for a while. This added to my anxiety and had my boyfriend not called the store even after I sounded the alarm countless times, I don't know how long I would have been stuck in there. The fire dept had to come and let me out. I was offered by one of the store managers, who was nice, a Starbucks drink. I took one, but felt pretty insulted to be honest, when I left the store and realized all that had happened. It's not that I wasted time on my trip, it's not even that I got stuck* it's HOW I got stuck and HOW the elevator was moving consistently, and how tired and sore and scared after being trapped in an elevator due to it just slamming me down, and all I get is I am sorry, let me offer you Starbucks. I am a regular shopper at Target and have never had a bad taste in my mouth from any experience I had had prior to this one. Any time I get on an elevator, I am reminded of the time I was stuck in this one. That day I came home exhausted and had a horrible headache. I am just writing you to let you know that it's not right how things were handled after I was out of the elevator. Saying sorry and just offering me a Starbucks after I SAID the elevator came crashing down every couple of seconds is not what I would have expected. I just wanted to let you know this is not the level of customer service or how to treat someone who just went through a scary experience at one of your stores. It has left a sour taste in my mouth and now every time I walk into a Target, I still think about that day and the outcome. I went back to the same Target with my boyfriend and our son, and we saw that the same elevator was still out of use. This goes to show that the elevator was pretty damaged and it couldn't have been an easy fix. This experience and mostly how it was handled is on my mind on a regular basis.
