I like my TracFone and have bought five of them with one year service plans from HSN. I wanted my wife to try a smart phone and bought her a TracFone last April (*** ***-****). It was kind of a cross behind a smart and dumb phone because she didn’t want a complicated smart phone. It was probably too small. It led to problems and she could not use it. She NEEDED A PHONE and had to go back to her old phone while I tried looking for another smart phone she might use. I fight fires for CAL FIRE and was busy this summer. I finally bought her another smart TracFone in early November with another one year plan.**I assumed as long as the other plan year had not run out I could combine the minutes with the new phone. *The problem arouse because she needed her number back in between having the two TracFones. The fact it had a year of service meant nothing as you do not use a TracFone account number –only the phone number.*Two Reps refused to add back any remaining minutes one saying she could not use it because the account had been closed more than * months. She was hard to understand due to language differences. **The first TracFone was ported on April **th **** and I think my wife used it for maybe * months transferring back to consumer cellular in June until I had time to look for a new smart TracFone for her. The middle of November I activated her second phone and now I realize it was NOT * months, maybe * since we had her other carrier. The contact period of one year was not expired and had she not NEEDED HER PHONE NUMBER, the account could have remained open under your ticket number would be one way to do it.**I like TracFone and have had account for * or * years and have an end date of June ****. They still say on HSN if you buy another plan or add minutes you keep your remaining minutes. I think TracFone should try to accommodate their customers more if someone buys two TracFones before their service period ends. They should be victimized by Catch ** policy (it a movie line if you are not old enough). HONOR WHAT YOU SELL- DO NOT LOOK FOR LOOPHOLES.
