I got charged by a company claiming to be Roku in Jan **** and again in May ****. They told me there is a one time activation fee in Jan and charged me $**.**. In May, they charged me again $**.**. Both through paypal. They also sent me receipt and helped me customer support when I had some roku issue. Last week, they called me and asked me to download teamviewer quick.support app to give me a refund of the money claiming they are closing the company. They told m ed they will help me with the refund application and once they came on team viewer, they went to paypal and asked me to open my account to give a refund, which I told I cannot. Then they opened my chase app and told me to put in my ID so they could give me a refund. I told them I cant do that. Then took a screenshot of my whats app picture and asked me whether I am in college. They were Indian guys and were talking the native Indian language ( Hindi) which I know as I am Indian too* I was shocked and immediately got terrified and uninstalled the quicksupport team viewer app. Then I searched and found the Roku number and called them and reported it. I have the receipt of payment. I lost my $*** in the name of Roku support team. This is horrifying.
