Hello,*My name is Paula Richerson and I reside in Clinton, MD *****. At approximately *:** p.m. on October **, ****, I was on the Offer Up site looking for cars. There was a **** Toyota Camry XLE listed. When I clicked the item or the chat button (I don't remember which now, there was a message from the seller stating that they did not respond through the chat on Offer Up and that interested parties should contact them at *****@***.com. I did so and the owner sent me details about the car. Her email said that her name was Patricia Meyers and that she was selling the car because it had belonged to her deceased husband who had died * month earlier. She said that she was going to be deployed out of the country for a year and didn't want to pay storage and insurance for the year she would be gone. She said she had made arrangements with ebay services to handle the transaction and that she could have the car shipped to me in * to * days. She said I would receive an invoice fro ebay with payment instructions and that ebay would secure the money until I had inspected the car and decided to go through with the transaction. I received an email from ebay with an invoice attached instructing me to purchase * ebay cards for $***.** each and send them photos of the front and back of each card as well as a copy of my receipt. The invoice looked very legitimate and even had the ebay logo. I did as instructed. I received an email from them stating that they had received the payment, but needed to pay another $***.** for insurance to cover the * day period that I would have to inspect the car. It was at this point I realized that this was a hoax. I told them I would send the additional $***.** the next day, which by this time would have been Friday, October **, ****. Of course I did not send it and haven't heard from Patricia Meyers or Ebay Motors since. When I went back to the Offer Up site to see if the car was still listed it was not. I would like to know if you have any record of the **** Toyota Camry XLE selling for $***.** being listed on your site on **********. If I recall correctly it would have been listed between * p.m. and * p.m. It had only been listed somewhere between * and * hours when I saw it at *:** p.m. on **********.
