Take a shower ... My fianc*, Lillie Hollandsworth, obtained a room at the Motel * in Long Beach, California, during a time when her Apartment on Ocean Blvd in Long Beach was being reinvaded. The Motel * in question is located on Pacific Coast Highway, or California *. I, Ike Tiner, am a truck driver and came off the road for a couple of days to be with my fianc*, Miss Hollandsworth*.**I arrived about *PM on Friday, August **, ****. After a few minutes of small talk, I decided to take a shower. I turned the shower water on, checking the water temperature prior to entering the shower tub.**I placed one foot into the floor nof the shower tub and brought my second foot in as well. Upon placing my second foot down on the floor of the tub, I felt a slight slip of my foot, so I adjusted my stance as to not slip any further. Upon doing so, my right shoulder was facing the shower spout. After completing my subtle adjustment of my stance, both feet slip out from under me, I feel out of the shower tub backwards. My right hip hit the toilet and I landed on my back with my head hitting the floor.**Miss Hollandsworth was close enough as I fell out of the tub to jump through the bath room door and helped break my fall after I hit the toilet and kept my head from hitting the floor with a more hard impact that may have caused very serious injury, maybe even death***Miss Hollandsworth called the motel front desk, apprised them of what had just happened and requested someone come to the room, room ***. It seemed like a very long time before someone arrived. The gentleman offered no help, other than to help me up off the floor and call an ambulance.**I told him to let me lay there a while as I was taking inventory of my body pains, attempting to assess the degree of my injuries. I told the man, I would get up my self in due time and see how felt in the morning.**The next morning, I called the front desk and asked them to call an ambulance, since he offered last night. I spoke with the same man that had come to my room the previous night. **I was taken back by his answer...he said I had to call the ambulance.....**after a few minutes, he called the room and offered to call the ambulance, but said I had to speak with them to actually get the ambulance to come out.**I was taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital min Long Beach. After numinous tests, X rays, and CT scans, they determined I had not broken any bones, but has some soft tissue damage and would be painful for several days. They prescribed some pain killer type medication that would not allow me to drive for several days.**Upon further examination of the Motel * bath and shower tub, I found, and have pictures of what seems to be anti skid type strips on the tub floor. While these anti skid strip can be seen with naked I, passing my hand over the strips I found they were worn so badly, the tub floor was totally smooth, like glass with NO TECTURE at all. **In addition, the shower tub drains very, very poorly. therefore my opinion is that with the worn anti skid strips and who knows how long of soap residue build up on the tub floor due to the poor drainage is why I slipped when I entered the shower tub.**I've stayed at other Motel *'s where more effort was given to the room cleanliness than here at this motel *
This Motel * should be closed down, new management putt in control, and my currant and future medical Bill's , lost of income, pain and suffering should be covered for the negulance of the hotels maintenance and house keeping policies.
Contacted Motel * corporate office, so far no response from Motel *.
