I am Ruben Hernandez, and I had a Massachusetts driver's license in the 1980s. After moving to Ohio and trying to get my license here, I was informed by the Ohio BMV that my Massachusetts license was suspended due to fines owed. I paid the $[redacted] fines and received a letter from MassDOT dated July 6, [redacted], indicating the reinstatement of my driving privileges and the absence of active suspensions or revocations on my record. I passed the temporary test in Ohio but failed the driver test, requiring proof of my past Massachusetts license to retake the test. I kindly request a letter confirming my previous Massachusetts driver's license for this purpose. Please contact me at [redacted] or via email at [redacted] I encountered long wait times on the phone and urgently need this addressed before my October 5 driving test. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.

I am currently attempting to renew my Massachusetts ID (not a driver's license) on the RMV (Registry of Motor Vehicles) website. Unfortunately, I have encountered a coding issue with one of the forms that prevents me from completing a requirement. Despite spending hours on the website, I have been unable to input the full number as it does not accept it. I have tried to reach out to them without success as nobody answers the phone, just endless recorded announcements with no option to speak to a representative. Overall, this experience has been quite frustrating and feels like a bureaucratic nightmare.

In January [redacted], I received a speeding ticket on the New York State Thruway. In March [redacted], the court in Chester, NY, contacted me regarding a missed court appearance despite pleading not guilty. I couldn't recall this but offered to pay the $70 fine. On April 10, [redacted], the Justice Clerk of the town of Chester informed me via email that the suspension had been lifted due to court closure amid the virus outbreak. However, in April [redacted], I received a notice from the RMV about my license suspension (Letter ID: L[redacted], License: S[redacted]5) due to the NY violation. My driving record only shows one violation in [redacted] with no points. When I contacted the NY DMV, they confirmed no suspensions on record using ID number [redacted]44. I'm willing to pay the fine, but with the Chester court closed, I seek reinstatement of my Massachusetts driver's license.

Hello, my name is Lauretta F. I recently took my permit test in NY, and I was surprised to learn that I couldn't get it due to unresolved issues in MA. Approximately 20 years ago, I received an OUI in MA, which seems to be the reason for the holdup. I don't drink anymore, and I need my license for work. I was informed the Registrar needs to handle this matter. Unfortunately, I don't have many details about the offense, but I can provide my SSN: [redacted]-50-[redacted]. You can reach me at [redacted]. I appreciate any assistance in resolving this. Thank you, Jamey T.

In [redacted], I received a speeding ticket on my way to NH and requested a court date to appeal. Despite following up with multiple phone calls and being assured by several people that everything was fine since they failed to send me a new court date, I was shocked to find out today that my license was suspended. I contacted the NH authorities who confirmed my payments were in order on their end. However, I was advised to contact Mass RMV. I have been on hold with them for over 3 hours with no end in sight, while I desperately need to resolve this issue as I have to pick up my kids soon. I am hoping to reach a person directly at the RMV to clear my fees and get this sorted out. It's time-sensitive, and I'm feeling quite stressed about the situation. My confirmation number for NH is [redacted] and the person I spoke with was Cheryl. If they call me back, I am ready to provide my credit card information right away to resolve this matter promptly.

I have a valid driver's license until [redacted], and I'm confused about an email I received regarding license renewal instructions for individuals aged 75 years and older in November. The email provided details on renewal procedures, including options for making appointments at specific RMV locations, renewing at AAA locations, and contacting the RMV for assistance. It also outlined the process for choosing between a REAL ID or Standard ID, emphasizing the importance of a REAL ID for future federal identification requirements. The email included additional information on vision screening certificates and surrendering a driver's license for a Mass ID. Overall, the email from the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles was informative but not applicable to my situation as my license is valid until [redacted].

Dear Sir/Madam,
I recently had an accident involving my car, which upon inspection was found to be rusted and would not pass inspection. The other driver was at fault, and the insurance company settled with me. Unfortunately, I forgot to remove the plates, which were subsequently canceled in March [redacted]. Despite this, I have been receiving bills for excise tax from Natick for a car I no longer possess. The car in question was a red [redacted] VW Jetta with the registration number 467ROG. Could you please provide me with a written document that I can show to the tax collector to resolve this issue?
Thank you,
Anne S. M.

On December 10, [redacted], while self-certifying my new DOT physical for my Class B CDL at the Greenfield, MA RMV, I was informed that due to being retired and not actively driving commercially, I could maintain my CDL without needing a DOT physical. My employer used to handle and cover the cost of the DOT physical when I was working. On October 20, [redacted], I renewed my Class B CDL and certified with my current DOT physical card expiring on December 10, [redacted]. I recently received a notification from the RMV stating that I must renew certification by the expiration date or my license will revert to a Class D. The renewal requires a valid DOT physical card. I am unsure if I can certify without the physical to keep my Class B CDL or not. If a new physical is needed, I will have to schedule an appointment two weeks in advance. I would greatly appreciate a prompt response to this matter. Thank you.

I recently completed a 30-day license suspension in Rhode Island, which ended on October 26, [redacted]. The website mentions that for chemical refusal cases, hearings are required at the Boston Haymarket location. Can I bring my certified driving history and reinstatement letter for a walk-in appointment? Also, I'm unsure about court abstracts. Will my case be resolved during the visit, or should I schedule a hearing appointment in advance? I couldn't find an option for license reinstatement in the dropdown menu. Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I applied for a temporary parking placard due to spinal stenosis, but received a letter on 10/28 stating my license would be suspended, dated 10/2. I believe the correspondence was misdirected due to a change of address from Pittsfield to Ashburnham. After informing you of a medical procedure on 11/12, I submitted reinstatement paperwork on 11/18, but have not received a decision. When I visited the RMV in Pittsfield without an appointment to inquire about the status, I was met with rudeness and refusal to listen. Despite having an appointment on 11/25 with Karen, who promised to help, I felt mistreated because of the pandemic. While I understand COVID concerns, I believe RMV services should be more accessible. I trust someone in Boston will address this issue promptly. - W. W

I recently discovered that my insurance was canceled due to a seat belt violation from 18 years ago in Saugerties, NY. Being 73 years old, I don't recall the violation clearly as my memory isn't what it used to be. I've already paid the $70 fine and reached out to the judge in Saugerties. However, I can't get through to a live person for information in MA, only finding my suspended license in online searches. It's crucial to resolve this before my insurance is terminated on Dec. 11th, which would greatly impact my wife and me. I seek guidance on the next steps in MA and who to contact for a timely resolution. Best regards, B. S. at [redacted] Greenwich Rd. Ware, MA [redacted].

I visited your official website to check the hours of operation for an express registry location to register my vehicle. Upon arrival, the guard informed me they were closed despite the website stating they were open until 5 pm. I recommend updating the website promptly to prevent unnecessary trips during the pandemic. After returning the next day to drop off my paperwork, I was initially told my plates would be mailed to me. However, shortly after arriving home, I received a call instructing me to come back and pick up the plates. It would be beneficial to update the website to inform visitors that a second trip may be necessary. Furthermore, due to the pandemic, it's crucial to provide accurate information and streamline the process to avoid multiple visits. A suggestion could be to wait in the parking lot until called to collect the plates safely. Thank you.

I have exhausted all other options and I am seeking assistance. My driver's license was suspended on June 17, [redacted], due to a medical reason. I provided the necessary documentation at the Fall River Office after visiting multiple doctors. I was contacted by Renee, a hearing officer, who mentioned a discrepancy in my CORI and RMV records, which took 3 months to correct. Unfortunately, I missed her call on Nov 19, [redacted], and have no means to contact her directly. If possible, please relay a message to Renee to contact me, Martin P. Thomas, at [redacted]. My license has been suspended for 5 months despite being medically cleared to drive after an accident.
I recently emailed the RMV requesting assistance in contacting my hearing officer. After some back and forth, I was informed to call the Suspension Department. My experience trying to reach them involved long wait times and varying estimates, ultimately leading to my hearing being reopened. Fortunately, my original hearing officer reached out on Friday and informed me that my license has been reinstated after the records were corrected. I acknowledge the challenges posed by the pandemic but having a direct line of communication with my hearing officer would have eased the process.

My brother went through an online transaction to obtain a duplicate registration, and the confirmation number is 1-[redacted]-[redacted]-[redacted]. His name is Richard Bowler, email address: [redacted] The email he received did not contain any personal data such as his name, address, or license plate number.
He needs the duplicate registration for driving his car and as proof of registration, but he expected the confirmation to include important information. I tried calling the registry today, but I was on hold for an hour before getting disconnected.
Thank you for your assistance.

I am selling my boat, motor, and trailer for $2,[redacted]. I know the trailer needs its own registration. I am unsure about how to handle sales tax in Massachusetts for the boat and trailer, whether to split the amount or use one bill of sale for both. Any advice on adjusting the prices for each item to avoid overpaying taxes? Thank you, Ernie Boren.

I need help because my car registration is expired, and my insurance has been canceled. Yesterday, I received a suspension notice for 60 days for reckless driving offense M84 in Ashburn, VA on April 6, [redacted]. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, my court date has been rescheduled multiple times, with the latest one being on 11/4, which I missed thinking it was moved to 11/20. Nonetheless, I have filed a Motion to Reopen the case, which has been approved, and my court date is now scheduled for January 4, [redacted]. This morning, I spoke with the Clerk at the court who can fax the RMV the approved Motion to Reopen my case to reinstate my license. I kindly request a fax number to facilitate this process. Thank you.

I have been attempting to contact the RMV for about a month now regarding a false license suspension. Despite not receiving a Suspension Notice, my license was wrongly suspended. I have documentation from the state of NH confirming that the ticket leading to the suspension was invalid and has been removed from my record. I urgently need the MASS RMV to address this issue promptly. It has caused significant disruptions in my job and personal life, especially in caring for my mother. I kindly request a response via email or phone call on Monday to resolve this matter.

This year, I underwent two surgeries due to cancer. I am struggling to renew or register my new vehicle because of over $[redacted] in EZ Pass charges. I was unable to address this earlier as I was too unwell to physically go to an EZ Pass location when I was informed of the charges. Now that I am in recovery, I need assistance to register my vehicle. Due to my health issues and COVID-19 restrictions, I couldn't complete this task on time. The appeal process, which takes up to 60 days, is not something I can afford medically. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
