I would like new proper fitting right side return drapes for sliding door ... I went to the JC Penney store at Washington Square in Oregon to order custom sliding drape with a traverse rod to go over our sliding door in the bedroom. I thought to go here to save money, as we ordered custom curtains in which we hung ourselves (from JCPenneys) about * years ago for the living room in our old house, and things were great. I went again again a month ago with my kids on our way home from a trip to look at the choices and get a possible estimate. The gal (April) had no idea how to help me. She was unsure of how to look things up in the computer. She gave me a quote for "panels" not a complete solid drape set that would cover a sliding door in the bedrooms. These drapes needed to be made for a traverse rod with pulley. She was unclear of how to help with that. She "did" give me a book with samples, but for her to try to look any samples up with pricing was exhausting. I ended up writing stuff down, and she would attempt t go and start a new order for each one. ALL SHE NEEDED TO DO WAS ENTER THE NEW FABRIC. She kept switching computers as she was unaware of how to go from screen to screen. I ended up looking stuff up on my own on her computer. I had to leave after being there for an hour. My kids were getting restless. A few weeks later, after getting precise measurements from my husband of the window, I went back to JCPenneys (in hopes I would get a new person). There WAS a new person there, BUT the gal noticed April's name on the past saved order and told her to help me!! I explained to April that the order she quoted me was for "paneling" (separate curtain pieces). I needed a solid piece. I went through fabrics (dog earring the ones I liked). She asked me not to bend the samples. So I ended up writing them all down. Because JCPenneys is so far from my home, I had to bring my kids. We have no one to watch them. I needed to get quotes for all the fabrics. SO, she SLOWLY entered information I gave he into the computer. After I gave her measurements and what I needed, she put the *st color I gave her from the sample for the *st quote. I wanted to give her another sample, she erased all my information and we had to start from scratch. It took her ** minutes for the *st entry! Each additional one was equally as painfully long. She continually erased my $** off coupon, and miscalculated my **% off discount. The manager came over to help her, then she ERASED IT AGAIN!!! She asked me about a "return" for the curtain. When I asked what that was, she was unclear. I asked the other sales girl if I need that for a sliding door drapery with traverse. She said "no". NOW that I have my curtains I ordered (AFTER BEING THERE FOR LITERALLY * *** HOURS!!!) I find out I DO need a return!!! My pully strings are showing and sun is coming in! I need the room dark, as I ordered blackout curtains due to my husband sleeping days and working nights. All my other curtains in our home have a return. Your sales associates steered me in an incorrect way. Additionally, she did not know how to order me the traverse rod, nor understood what it meant for which side I needed the pull string! I had to order the rod on my own when I got home. I AM VERY DISSASTISFIED!!! This is literally the worst experience I have had. My curtains need the return to cover the rod. The rod I ordered from JCPenneys slides at the crease (Adjusting point). I had to put duct tape on it. I need curtains with a RETURN to go over the strings to the right!! Additionally, I needed to order extra fabric to make a valence. She did not know how to do that and was going to order me an entire panel! I went to go ask the other lady for help. And she did help. Then the sales associate I was working with erased that * times! So I went to go get that other lady to help again. I called various numbers with JCPenneys -*st the "HOME" department and clicked on windows, then she said she was with a separate company, so she transferred me to ***-***-****. The guy had no idea how to help me, nor did he want to listen to "why" I was calling. He said he did not know how to help me. I explained I needed to speak to someone about my order issue. He said maybe try to call the store. He's online help. The other gal who transferred me was still on the line and chimed in. She said he should not have handled the call like that. She transferred me somewhere else and said I should be able to get some help from the transfer. I was on hold for ** minutes and hung up. I called the store directly to speak with a manager, but it only lets me go to departments. I DO NOT WANT TO SPEAK WITH THAT DEPARTMENT in fear I will reach that sales associate again!! I have been to every site trying every site to get help. This is the only thing I can find to try to reach someone. Please let me know who I can speak with about this!
