My husband and I purchased a Groupon for a Harry potter themed pub crawl for last night. I visited the vendors website to see if there was any additional fine print that we should look out for. The wizards assemble website noted that one should arrive between *-*pm in order to redeem their voucher and to receive their complimentary wand, badge, map, and app information. Otherwise, we would have made it just on time to check in. When we arrived at the stated venue on our Groupon, we were informed that the people scanning the tickets has just left to head to the next venue. I at that point tried to contact the company through the provided link, but the website had a bad IP address and would not load. I called the phone number provided on the Groupon app, and it was simply the phone number for the bar we were standing outside of. We went to the next venue hoping to find the employees running the event, but we were unsuccessful. None of the bar staff knew who the event facilitators were, and none of the patrons could point out any event staff members. We then went to the next venue to see if we could find any event employees there and were also unsuccessful. In short, we wasted hours trying to contact these people in order to redeem our vouchers, did not get any of the complementary items that were included with our purchase, had to pay full price for drinks when we were supposed to have half off pricing, did not get to participate in the trivia, and so on. I understand that there is so refund through Groupon or the website, but not being able to contact the event holders is simply not our fault and led to a terribly overpriced and stressful evening. Is there any way for us to receive the complimentary items that were included with our purchase of the Groupon? Or at least some sort of voucher? We seriously wasted our whole night just because their website link wouldn't work.
