Purchased a groupon for coles custom detailing. Could not use b* it expired. Car was in shop. Contacted merchant and he said not to worry that he would mark it redeemed and then i could come in when i got car back. **Got car back Saturday and contacted merchant today to set up service. He said quote:**I believe Groupon takes all the money which I'm not happy about. Any Groupon I redeemed manually once it officially expired Groupon took the money because they said you can't manually enter a number to help customer. " Then he said:** "Groupon took all of the money back. They said we can't manually enter it. Have to scan barcode." **Sounds like a bunch of double talk to me. I already paid for the groupon back in february. Now he says i have to pay another $** which would be the regular price of a detail. None of this makes sense to me. The groupon never expired. He redeemed it prior to expiry date so that i could use it when i had my car back. Is it true that groupon takes money back from merchants and then the customer is the one that pays the price in the end? Please explain how this works.
