In my ** years on this earth I have never been so shocked and disgusted,,,i share a home with my daughter, son-in-law, and * grandchildren. My son-in-law’s parents have lived * streets behind us for the past ** years ,,,,* weeks ago she was hospitalized with kidney failure and is now in an extended care home * weeks ago my ** year old grandson found his grandfather dead in his home so after calling emergency services my daughter ,son-in-law ,and grandson were not allowed in the house for nearly * hours as police officers were in and out of the house ,,, at one point a detective interviewed each one of them ,,, my daughter explained to the detective that her father-in-law was notorious for carrying large sums of money inside his clothing ,, she wanted the detective to make sure that it wasn’t attached to his body when they removed him from his house ,,, another officer came out of the house looking for the deceased’s wallet for identification purposes,,,,apparently they had gone through everything looking for his wallet ,,, The family has known for the past several years he had been hoarding $*** bills, hiding them in the master bedroom and often spreading them out on the bed to count them ,,,,,he kept his house locked up with the alarm on at all times ,,, if you showed up at his house unexpectedly he would often speak through the door and tell you he wasn’t dressed and you would have to wait for him to dress ,,,, well once he finally let you in the house his wife would announce “He was dressed, he just had his money out on the bed counting it so he had to hide it” lol ,,,, My daughter and son-in-law told him time after time how dangerous it was for him to keep that amount of cash in his house ,,, he was ** years old and wasn’t going to listen to anyone,,, My daughter has taken care of he and his wife’s finances for the past several years and she estimates that he had somewhere around $**,***.** in $*** bills ,,,, there is no doubt in my family’s mind that this money was taken by one or more of these police officers that were attending him ,,, at one point we were going to hire an attorney but because I have a ** and ** year old grandson that just started driving this year , and to top it off they are half black , we decided not to pursue this with an attorney because of the risk involved,,,, Where do you turn to when the police turn on you ? We imagined a scenario where out of retaliation one of my grandson’s being stopped while driving and shot because the officer would say they had a gun and plant one on them ! Neither one of my grandsons have ever seen a gun in person let alone touched one ! If my grandchildren’s life’s weren’t at risk I would have already been to all of our local news outlets ,,What has this world come to? I feel as if we are living under Putin’s rule. I am so angry that my grandchildren and my family will suffer emotionally and financially because of someone’s greed and stupidity,,, we discovered that my son-in-law’s parents divorced in **** and unfortunately never remarried so his mom will not receive any of the $*,*** a month pension that he was receiving,,,, she will only receive her $*** a month social security,,,, My question to “go fund me” is there anyway we can set up an account and not let our city know that it is my family ,,, if the family could build a casita in the back yard they would be able to care for her at home and she would get the best of care by her family,,, she has suffered the loss of the man she was with for ** years and no matter how bizarre their relationship was she deserves to live the rest of her life in peace near her family .
