I had placed a credit freeze on my credit report after a credit monitoring service had discovered my name, social, dob and address had been found published on the dark web. I was attempting to temporarily lift the freeze. I attempted to recover the pin and I received an email, I was to click on the link to confirm and I would regain access. The very strangest thing, I received the email.. but it was addressed to my deceased sister. I attempted to call just about every telephone number I could find for Experian to reach a person and explain the situation. I was unable to even get any options without first providing my social, zip, address, dob. When I did provide this information, I received very limited options (none to speak to a person) and I chose to "fraud" and then "freeze" and instead of getting anyone to answer questions... I received a congratulatory message informing me that I had just successfully frozen my credit report and that I would receive confirmation via mail... before promptly hanging up the phone. WTF?
GetHuman2560116 did not yet indicate what Experian should do to make this right.
