MEMO FOR RECORD: ********** @ **:** PM**This morning I called DirecTV to speak to a Billing representative, re, the lack of a “credit” for $**.** that was supposed to show up on my August **** statement. Instead, the amount was listed as “past due.”**The credit amount was the result of a phone call I made to a DirecTV representative on*about July **th. We had been paying for a receiver since November ****…a receiver that was physically removed from service and thrown away (at the direction of a DirecTV service technician who serviced our RV in Buckeye, AZ last November). Instead of removing that receiver from our account, DirecTV continued to bill us a monthly fee for what was listed as the “*th TV” on the July **** statement.**Ironically, the August statement no longer listed * TVs, only *, but we were not credited for the now defunct receiver as I was promised back in July. At that time I was instructed to pay $***.** instead of the statement amount of $***.** (which I did)…and was assured the difference of $**.** would show up as a credit on the August statement (which it did not).**NOTE: On Monday, July **rd, a DirecTV service technician came to our house to activate the *th receiver (transferred from our RV into our Master Bedroom). At that time, he confirmed only * TVs were in service: * Genie DVR, * regular DVR, and * mini-Genies.**After several minutes of trying to explain all of the aforementioned information to the Billing representative (earlier today), I became frustrated with her lack of understanding and assistance and requested I speak to a Billing Supervisor. I was then placed “on hold” for more than ** minutes at which point the original representative informed me that the supervisor was busy with another customer, but promised that the supervisor would call me back “in * minutes” (via my cell phone *). That was ** minutes ago (as of this writing), and I haven’t heard from anyone from AT&T since.**I then went on-line to DirecTV and tried the “Chat” route so I could speak to someone who might listen to my concerns. “Richard” was the first person who responded, and when I asked to speak to a supervisor via telephone, he told me that I could only chat with a Supervisor, not talk to one. When I stated “that is unacceptable,” I was abruptly transferred to someone named “Belford” who said he was a supervisor and that he would call me on my home phone “in ** minutes.” That was ** minutes ago (as of this writing), and once again, I didn’t receive a call-back from anyone at AT&T.**Feeling totally disgusted with this entire situation, I chose to pay my August **** DirecTV statement in the amount of $***.** (which is $**.** less than the $***.** amount indicated on my statement). I will not pay anything more! AT&T DirecTV needs to acknowledge their error and credit my account accordingly.**This experience, by far, is the worst DirecTV customer service situation I’ve ever experienced with this company. DirecTV was much more “customer oriented” before they were purchased by AT&T. It’s been down-hill ever since.**UPDATE: It is August **, **** at *:**PM (MDT), and still…nobody from AT&T DirecTV has contacted me regarding my billing concerns!
