To whom it may concern,**On September **th my husband and I recently flew on flights DL **** and DL ** from San Diego to Montreal. We flew first class as I have back issues and my husband has a torn labrum in his hip. On flight ****, my seat would not recline. The flight attendant at the beginning of the flight asked me to put the seat in "the full upright position" and I told her that it wouldn't move any further and that I hadn't moved it since we boarded the plane. She didn't comment and walked away. During the flight I was unable to move the seat at all but there were no other empty seats in first class. At the end of the flight, the flight attendant had to get on top of the seat and pull it with both arms into the correct position herself. By then, my neck and back were so sore I could barely move. She said that she would document this so there should be a record if you want to verify my claims. Delta had left us a very short time between our flights so I asked the attendant to please give us the next gate so that we could know where to go and get to the next gate as soon as possible. She told us gate Number thirty five. We came in at gate three. My husband and I ran as fast as we could all the way down to thirty five only to find that it was really gate eleven. We then had to run all the way back to gate eleven which we made just as they were finished boarding. This my husband had to do with a torn labrum in his hip. Needless to say, our entire vacation was ruined. Between my neck and back and his hip, the rest and relaxation that we both so badly needed was spent recuperating from DL **. There is no excuse for what happened to us. I want a full refund for both of our tickets. For us to have paid for first class seats in order to avoid problems and then have this happen is inconceivable.
