This is the third time I have tried to get resolution about a necklace that my husband bought for me at Christmas last year. I have visited Costco three times with the necklace that was defective and frayed after several weeks of careful wear. My husband and I were told that even though we had the box and the order request number paper for which they retrieved the necklace from stock, we could not return it because the authenticity sheet was inadvertently thrown away in the trash with Christmas wrapping paper. This was an expensive gold necklace, and is worthless because the product was defective. I took the piece to a jeweler who told me that this should definitely be replaced by Costco. **Thus far, we have not received any cooperation from Costco, even though our construction company spends tens of thousands of dollars per year with Costco. By looking up our membership, the charges are clearly there for the necklace, the amount, and the date of purchase. I have photographs of the necklace and the defect, the original paper, and the box. On three occasions, the managers seemed too busy to deal with this. We regularly purchase items from Costco both in Ohio and in Florida. At this point, we are hesitant to make any more purchases from Costco given that the return is not honored. When a single item is more than $***, one would think that Costco would stand behind their product. **We would like the item to be repaired or replaced. If that is not possible, we would like a full refund. We don’t feel that this is a good business practice.
