Hello, *I need to resolve an issue regarding the return of my damage deposit of €***. I have made contact with the property owner on a number of occasions, who has stated they had a number of repairs they needed to carry out. I have refuted most of these as they are untrue. **He said he had to pay * hours extra cleaning which I dont understand as on the evening before leaving we brushed and mopped the whole apartment and cleaned the bathrooms as I always do. He also said a cup had a broken handle, this cup was broken on our arrival. A cheese knife handle, on a knife we did not even use, was supposed to have also been broken. A shutter in one of the rooms which was broken on our arrival and a crease in a blind which was not moved from the position it had been left in by them on our arrival as all blinds and shutters were open on our arrival. I agree towels may have been stained by products we were using and I am happy to pay to have them replaced.**I have been renting properties in Spain for ** years now and have never had any issues as I respect other people's properties as if they were my own. With this said it has now been * weeks since my return and I still have had no comeback about cost or when I will get any of my deposit back. I feel very upset about this as it has stained the reason why I went on this trip. It should have been a happy memory of my deceased mother's **th birthday, which we were there to celebrate. Now all I can think of is how I'm being made to pay for someone else's damage. I would like to know how booking.com covers their customer from false claims and how we prove these claims to be false.
