I paid £** for a hotel room through Booking.com. The hotel charged me £** (£** plus a 'deposit' that was not included in the invoice and only mentioned in the 'small print', which I did not see prior to making payment. The room was so awful that we did not stay. Also there were several charges (cleaning etc) that were not mentioned explicitly before booking. I have asked for a full refund but even the £** 'deposit' has not been refunded by the hotel. I have not receive a satisfactory response from Booking.com yet either. I would be grateful for any advice that you could give me.

How GetHuman3644387 fixed the problem
Booking.com called and offered almost a full refund for the room, as the hotel refused to refund. They had charged an extra £** as a 'deposit' without my knowledge and Booking.com contacted them to get a refund. This has been sorted but it was distressing. I arranged for a new debit card to ensure that no more money ciuld be withdrawn from my account. I will report the hotel to actionfraud.police.uk, as they are using the online platform to scam customers. Booking.com was very helpful but l think that it needs to be more careful about its partners and the way they use the online platform.
