Friday **th April **** booking confirmed for * night stay at Palia Sa Coma Playa aparthotel. On arrival, my name was not on the list for check in. I paid *.**€ tourist tax in cash. My contract states *.**€ to be paid at Hotel . Reception contacted Booking.com to check if ***.**€ had been paid. It had not. Contract states payment to be taken before arrival. As I have booked with booking.com several times they normally take payment automatically. I was reluctant to pay the Hotel and wanted to leave but conditions state full payment required for cancellation. I paid ***.** on my card with the assurance that money would not be taken twice. (Manuel) I was in a no win situation. On return of my stay ***.** € was taken from my account. I phoned the Hotel * minutes after money was taken. The staff were not aware!* My complaint is that had booking.com taken money and notified Hotel, this would not have occurred. The stress of trying to resolve this matter, outweighed any pleasure for my * night stay.* I would like an explanation as to why my booking was not confirmed with Hotel but I have confirmation of this booking with all the conditions. You need to check with the Hotel for scams as Manuel had no reason to take my ** digit number to enable him to use my card without pin number. I consider a full refund is admissible in this instance
