My mother passed away in NE so I took off time to go to her funeral. On our way home my husband and I saw the Flight we were supposed to board (Flight AA****) DFW was delayed from *:** departure to after *:** p.m. Once we boarded the pilot said he could make up the time. The flight attendant confirmed that our arrival Gate B** was right next to the Flight to San Angelo Gate B**. We might have made this Connection but the pilot could not get the plane lined up with the exit ramp. We still had a few minutes so we got off the place and found Gate B ** was totally empty. I ran down two more Gates to make sure we were in the right place. My husband stayed at Gate B**. He asked the AA representative and he said, "your place just loaded, see?" Since this was a last flight, we do not understand why they did not wait * minutes. I had to work at ASU the next day so we rented a Nissan from AVIS car * ******** on Sunday (November **) for $***.** plus $**.** for gas. We left at midnight and arrived home at *:** a.m. Most of the trip was in a rain storm. None of this was our fault nor could we control what happened. We do not have $***.** to pay for a rental car. The flight attendants were great but the man at the boarding Gate acted like he could care less, which was very disappointing. PS we were also told we could stay in hotel but there were no available seats on the Monday or Tuesday flights. Tom at DFW said AA pays for hotel rooms, which did not help us. We just want to be reimbursed for the car rental in the amount of $***.**.
