The issue in GetHuman-parikhu's own words
I took AC *** from BOM to YYZ on **-Jan. My bags were checked in at BOM at **:** hrs for the flight departing at **:** hrs, and were tagged PRIORITY as I am a Star Alliance Gold member via United Airlines (WA******). **After I landed in Toronto, and while in the immigration hall waiting for the bags to be processed, I was informed at around *:**am local time that my bags were not on the flight from BOM to YYZ because there was a weight problem on the plane, and several passenger bags were unloaded along with other cargo. From YYZ, I connected to AC *** on **-Jan to BOS. I was asked to report missing bags after landing in Boston, which I did, and my case was opened with file number BOSAC***** at around *:**pm on **-Jan in Boston. My flight from YYZ to BOS was delayed by * hours.**I have checked several times online to see the status of my bags. I called your Central Baggage Office this morning to inquire of the status. However, there is no update, and no one has been able to tell me where the bags are, or whether they are delayed or lost.**This raises several questions:*(*)*Why was I not informed in Mumbai by a flight crew or by email or SMS (both my email address and phone number are in the record) when my bags were unloaded?*(*)*Why was the case not opened in Toronto itself if they knew that my bags were on the flight from BOM to YYZ, instead of asking me to open it after I reached Boston?*(*)*Why is it that no one is able to tell me where my bags are even though it has been over ** hours after I left BOM on the flight to YYZ, ** hours since I was informed at YYZ about my bags not being on the plane, and almost ** hours since the case was opened?**I need to know right away if my bags are lost. They have expensive clothes purchased in India for my son’s upcoming wedding this June, in addition to my personal things and other items I purchased in India. If the bags are lost, it is more than a financial issue as we would need to find replacement clothes for several people attending the wedding.**How can I find out (*) if my bags are just delayed or lost, and (*) when they would arrive in Boston?**Please help. Thank you.
