WordPress sells domains through its paid plans. When you register a new domain from WordPress, you have 96 hours to cancel and request a refund. If you just purchased your domain, you have to contact WordPress support to cancel it. Then you can register a new domain for your site.
If it's too late for a refund, you will have to purchase a new domain.
- On your logged-in account, go to Upgrades, then Domains
- Select Add Domain to this site
- After registering a new domain, go to Upgrades, then Domains again
- Click the menu option by your new domain and choose make primary address
You can keep your original domain or cancel it.
Changing Your Domain Registered With Another Provider
