Wizz Air is a Hungarian low cost airline that is headquartered in Budapest. The airline flies to over 149 destinations mostly across Europe but also in the Middle East and North Africa.

Passengers on Wizz Air flights are allowed to carry one free carryon bag that can be placed in the seat ahead of you. You are also allowed to carry up to six pieces of checked in luggage.

You can only pay for three pieces online or by calling Wizz Air and pay for the other three at the airport. Paying online is far cheaper than paying at the airport and is highly recommended.

Baggage Problems

If you travel on a Wizz Air flight and upon arriving at your destination, you find out that your baggage is missing, damaged or delayed; you can file a report with the airline at the airport.

You can do so by immediately visit the 'Baggage Claim' or 'Lost Luggage' desk in the airport's transit area, where an Wizz Air representative will help you fill out a Property Irregularity Report (PIR).

You can also file a report within seven days of arrival at your destination if there was damage to your luggage that was not recognizable upon arrival. If your luggage is delayed and subsequently arrives damaged, you can file a PIR within 21 days of the luggage's arrival.

Reporting Baggage Problems

You can contact Wizz Air about issues with your baggage in a variety of ways. The best way to do this is by submitting a complaints form to Wizz Air customer relations.

You can do so through the following process:

  1. Launch your web browser and open the Wizz Air website
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'Baggage' under the 'Customer Service' tab
  3. You will be redirected to the 'Information & Services' page. To the left hand side of the page, you will see the page's main menu. Scroll down till you see 'Contact' and click it. Click the 'Contact Us' that subsequently appears under it
  4. Scroll down the Contact Page and click 'Complaints.' Click the 'submit a complaint form' tab and you will be redirected to the 'Compliments and Complaints' page
  5. Log in to your account and submit the complaint

You can also call Wizz Air if you have baggage problems. The airline has call centers in all the countries in which they operate.

Before making the call you should know that there is a €15 transaction fee if you call a call center for services that are available online. To contact your local call center, follow these steps:

  1. Launch your web browser and open the Wizz Air website
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'Baggage' under the 'Customer Service' tab
  3. You will be redirected to the 'Information & Services' page. To the left hand side of the page, you will see the page's main menu. Scroll down till you see 'Contact' and click it. Click the 'Contact Us' that subsequently appears under it
  4. Click 'Call Center' and then scroll down and you will see the option to select your country. You should check the Call Center's opening hours below to see if the center is open
  5. Select the country you are in and call the number to file you complaint.
