How Do I Unlock My Wind Mobile Phone?

If you unlock your Freedom Mobile (or, as it used to be known, Wind Mobile) phone, you can use it with any carrier, not just with Freedom Mobile. The company sells Samsung Galaxies, iPhones, and Google Pixels. You must follow a different procedure, depending on which kind of Freedom Mobile phone you have. This article will teach you what you need to know.

First, Figure out if You Can Unlock Your Phone

When you buy a phone from Freedom Mobile, it is initially locked so you can only get service from Freedom Mobile. If you want to unlock it, you must meet the following requirements:

  • The phone has to have been active on Freedom Mobile's network for a minimum of 90 days.
  • You must have fully paid the phone off.
  • Your account must be active.
  • You cannot have any past-due payments.
  • You have to pay a $50 unlocking fee.

How To Unlock a Samsung Galaxy

If you have a Samsung Galaxy, follow these instructions to unlock it:

  1. Contact the service provider you want to switch to make sure your phone will work with it.
  2. If it will, buy a SIM card for that network.
  3. Open Notifications.
  4. Swipe down.
  5. Tap on Settings in the drop down menu.
  6. Tap on About Phone.
  7. Locate the IMEI entry.
  8. Write down the IMEI number.
  9. Contact Freedom Mobile's customer service.
  10. Ask the representative to unlock your phone.
  11. Pay the unlock fee.
  12. Provide your account login information, SIM card number, IMEI number, and billing information when asked.

How To Unlock an iPhone

If you have an iPhone, follow this procedure to unlock it:

  1. Make sure your iPhone will work with your new service provider.
  2. Buy a SIM card for that provider if it will.
  3. Go to Settings.
  4. Select General.
  5. Tap on About.
  6. Locate the Serial Number entry.
  7. Write down the serial number, which is also called an IMEI number.
  8. Contact Freedom Mobile.
  9. Ask the representative to unlock your iPhone.
  10. Pay the unlock fee.
  11. Provide your login and billing information, the SIM card number, and the serial number when asked.

How To Unlock a Google Pixel

If you have a Google Pixel, follow these instructions:

  1. Make sure your phone will work on the new network.
  2. Buy a SIM card if it will.
  3. Go to Settings.
  4. Tap on About Phone.
  5. Locate the IMEI entry.
  6. Write down the IMEI number.
  7. Contact Freedom Mobile.
  8. As the representative to unlock your phone.
  9. Pay the unlock fee.
  10. Provide login and billing information, SIM card number, and IMEI number when asked.

When you need assistance unlocking your phone, contact a representative from Freedom Mobile's customer service department. You can contact one by phone. There are no online contact options for Freedom Mobile's customer service department.
