Activating Your New Vonage Phone

Vonage can be used on landlines and mobile devices, and activation differs for each. You must have high-speed Internet for your Vonage phones to operate.

Landline Set Up

To set up your landline, first check your Internet connection to make sure it's working properly and you have enough bandwidth to support your new phone. Next, follow the steps below to set up your landline:

  1. Open Vonage's website in your browser.
  2. Choose the plan that will suit your needs. Plans come with or without a contract and include:
    • Domestic Plan (North America) for $9.99 for the first six months and $26.99 a month after (with a one-year contract).
    • Limited Domestic Plan (US and Canada) for $9.99 for the first six months and $14.99 a month after (with a one-year contract).
    • World Prime (International Plan) for $9.99 for the first six months and $29.99 a month after (with a one-year contract).
    • Limited International Plan (US, Canada, 400 World Prime 400) for $9.99 for the first six months and $16.99 a month afterwards (with a one-year contract).
  3. Enter your street address, mailing address, and payment information.
  4. When you receive your Vonage box, plug the cable into your router and the other end into your landline phone and start enjoying your new calling plan.

Cell Phone Set Up

You can use your Vonage plan on up to three smartphones, so you can take your plan with you wherever your go. To set up your cell phone for Vonage, follow these steps:

  1. Download the Vonage Extension app on your smart device.
  2. Link it to your home phone account.
  3. Start using your cell phone with your new plan.

Activating your new Vonage phone is easy when you follow the steps outlined above. Also, it's important to note that disconnected or closed accounts cannot be reactivated.
