How Do I Order a New Vanguard Debit Card?

Vanguard is a financial services company that provides many services to its members. Members who wish to use and order a debit card for their Vanguard account will have to go through their bank and obtain a bank debit card for these services. The Vanguard Advantage program ended on July 31, 2019. This program included a Visa Gold Advantage card. Members can link their external bank accounts to their Vanguard accounts to have access to a debit card.

Vanguard members have access to many services through their Vanguard account. However, Vanguard isn't a bank despite all the services offered to members. Members are able to write checks, pay bills, and link their bank with their Vanguard account. The Vanguard Advantage program included a Visa® Gold debit card in addition to other benefits. However, Vanguard terminated this program in July of 2019. As a result, customers who want to use a debit card with their Vanguard account should link a bank to their Vanguard account.

Vanguard

Although Vanguard isn't a bank, members have several bank-like options of which they can take advantage. Members who want to withdraw funds through a debit card are advised to link their bank account and use the debit card provided by their bank. If you don't have a debit card, contact your bank to get instructions on how to order a debit card. As of 2019, Vanguard has discontinued its Vanguard Advantage accounts. This account provided a Visa® Gold debit card to Vanguard members. When the Vanguard Advantage accounts were discontinued, any transactions placed with the credit card were declined after July of 2019. Vanguard also asked all members who have these debit cards tied to their Vanguard account to destroy them.

Vanguard and Bank Debit Cards

Members can link their bank accounts to their Vanguard account and make many of the same transactions that they did with their Visa Gold Advantage card. In preparation for the termination of the Vanguard Advantage account, members were given several recommendations to replace services that they used through the Advantage program. The program terminated on July 13, 2019. Members who don't have a debit card should call their financial institution and get instructions on how to order one, once they've linked their bank to their Vanguard account. Members who don't have a bank account can link a debit card to their Vanguard account once they open a bank account and link it to their Vanguard account.
