Customers can file a broken phone claim with Asurion to see if they qualify for repair services or a replacement phone. Sprint insurance covers Accidental Handling Damage, such as cracked screens. However, cracked screens qualify for repair as long as the phone has no additional damage. Replacements are provided at the discretion of Asurion.


Depending on the damage, even if you don't have Sprint Complete, you can have your phone repaired at a repair center at full retail cost. iPhone users may qualify for repairs by an Apple Service Provider. To see if your device is eligible or check the status of your pending claim, go to Apple Care.


If your device is damaged or you found the phone you reported lost, Asurion will send you the necessary packaging to return your phone to avoid the non-return fee. Based on the quality of the phone, the fee can range up to $1,500. Customers with stolen or lost phones should contact Sprint Customer Service within 60 days of the loss.


File a Sprint Complete Insurance Claim

To submit a claim, call Asurion Customer Service, or go online to file a broken phone claim, determine your deductible, and check the status of your claim. Once your claim is approved, you are responsible for a deductible that varies depending on the tier of your device.


Repairs include a non-refundable deductible of which the value depends on the type of phone and the extent of the damage. Some types of damage may lead to additional service fees, depending on the tier of the phone and the extent of your coverage plan.


An automated system from Asurion may send additional information regarding the repair or replacement of your device.

Repairing a Broken Sprint Phone

Broken phones can be repaired by trained technicians, in two ways:

  • In-stores repairs: At one of the 450 Sprint repair centers, the phone is often repaired in the same day.
  • Mail-in repairs: Once shipped, the broken phone is repaired and returned within 5 business days.


Approval for cracked screen repair claims depend on the type and age of the device. New Samsung, Apple, LG, and HTC phones are eligible for screen repair 60 days after the model is released. Additionally, older phones may not be eligible for repair. Eligible iPhone users may be directed to a certified Apple Store for repairs.

Replacing a Broken Sprint Phone

Asurion tries to provide a replacement phone that are a comparable model, if they cannot provide the same model as your broken phone. The replacement may be new or refurbished and includes a 12-month warranty.


Customers with issues with a replacement phone should contact Asurion Customer Service, or Apple Care for iPhone users. If the replacement is damaged or defective upon arrival, Asurion Customer Service may direct you to a Sprint Repair Center.


If your phone has been lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair, you'll be able to replace it for a refurbished phone for a flat fee with Asurion.
