Everyone hopes that both they and their luggage will arrive at the same destination when they fly. Unfortunately, that doesn't always happen, which makes it important to know what to do next. If you flew with Spirit Airlines and your luggage is missing, here are the steps you can take to file a claim.
Visit the Spirit Airlines website.
Scroll down the Spirit Airlines homepage until you find the "Talk to Us" line. It's in white text against a black background, between "Fly With Us" and "Get to Know Us." There's a down-pointing arrow to its right.
Click on the down-pointing arrow to the right of "Talk to Us." Doing so will expand the menu underneath.
Look for the "Help Center" link, which should be the first option below the "Talk to Us" header.
Click on "Help Center," which will take you to the "Spirit Airlines Support" page.
Scroll down until you find the "Explore All Support Topics" section.
Locate the "Bags" box. It contains a blue "Bags" link and features a black luggage icon.
Click on the "Bags" link, which will take you to the Spirit Airlines "Bags" page.
Look for the "Baggage Claim" header. It should be the second header below "Baggage Charges."
Under "Baggage Claim," look for the "Mishandled Bag Information" link.
Click on the "Mishandled Bag Information" link, which will take you to a page of the same name.
Find the "Questions" section. It's the last one on the page.
Read the information in the "Questions" section.
Follow the instructions in the "Questions" section to take further action. If you have questions or need help with the process, please move on to Step 15.
If you have questions or need assistance, contact Spirit Airlines customer support. Give them as many details as possible about the situation, including your flight info and whether your name and contact information were inside your bag as well as on the outside of it. If you have photos of your luggage, consider providing those as well, so they have them on file.
Once you realize your bag has been lost while traveling with Spirit Airlines, it's important to notify the company right away. This can help you begin the next steps and hopefully get your luggage returned to you.
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
After helping consumers for 10 years, we realized that you need an impartial, live person you can talk to about comparing the various TV, cable, Internet and phone plans in your area- somebody who can compare the best deals across telecom providers. So we created a free concierge service you can call at the phone number below.
