You may even think of a Snapstreak as a badge of friendship, so when it disappears, it can be disappointing. If you lost your Snapstreak, you may be able to restore it by clicking the Restore button beside the chat. If you don't see the Restore button, it could mean that too much time has passed since your streak expired. You may no longer be able to restore your streak if you don't act soon after it expires.
