If you and your friends use Snapchat frequently, you are likely to build up your Snapstreak. Your Snapstreak will increase as you and your friends send snaps to each other. If you Snapchat each other within 24 hours for three consecutive days, your Snapstreak increases. A flame emoji will appear next to your friend's name. The number next to the flames increases as you continue to send snaps.

The process of building your Snapstreaks can take a lot of time. It would be a shame to lose them for no valid reason. If you have spent weeks trying to build a Snapstreak, it can be frustrating to have it all wiped out. Fortunately, it is possible to get it back.

How to Keep Your Snapstreak Going

This is the most obvious way to preserve your Snapstreak. If you want your Snapstreak to keep going, you and your friend must continue snapping each other every day. While this may sound like a lot of work, it is the easiest way to keep your Snapstreak going.

When Your Streak Disappears

It is possible to lose your Snapstreak even after working hard for it. Most people lose their streaks due to technical problems. If you feel that your streak has disappeared unfairly, you can contact Snapchat for help. They will help you reactivate it. Snapchat understands that your streak may be important to you so they are always willing to help.

Before you claim your lost Snapstreak, you need to be sure that it was lost unfairly. The primary reason for losing your streak is if you and your friend have not been sending snaps within the past 24 hours.

If you have attempted to send messages to your friend, check your internet connection. Connectivity problems could cause your snaps to fail. In such instances, Snapchat should send you a notification that your Snap was not delivered. Check for that message and try again when you have a better internet connection. You can always start to build a new streak.

Another reason for lost streaks may be faulty hardware or operating systems. If this problem goes on, you will lose both your streak and 'best friend' status.

If you are sure that both you and your friend sent snaps but still lost your streak, it is okay to report to Snapchat. Getting Your Streak Back

Before you try getting your streak back, you must know that there are provisos. Snapchat will not allow you to claim your streak back every time you lose it. You must, therefore, contact them for help only when you are sure that you lost your streak unfairly. Follow the following steps to get your streak back.

  • Go to Snapchat Support. The option will provide you with a list of all possible problems. Click on the option 'My Snapstreak disappeared.'
  • Fill in your details in the contact form that will appear on your screen. Some of the details that you will be required to fill in include; your username, cell number, and email address.
  • Fill in the form with all the details you can. If you are not sure of your answers, ask your friend to help.

Snapchat may not be able to help you if you do not fill in the form accurately and in details. You won't get your Snapchat back if waned naturally. In that case, you can try to build your streak back.
