What is the difference between a Snap and a Story on Snapchat?

Asked a year ago
On Snapchat, a Snap refers to a photo or video that you send to a specific recipient or a select group of friends. These Snaps can be viewed only once, and after being viewed, they disappear from the recipient's device unless they are saved. Snaps can also be decorated with filters, stickers, text, and drawings. On the other hand, a Story is a compilation of photos and videos that can be viewed by all your friends for 24 hours. You can post multiple Snaps to your Story, creating a narrative of your day or an event. Stories can be enhanced with caption text, stickers, filters, and more. Unlike Snaps, Stories are visible to all your friends and can be viewed multiple times within the 24-hour timeframe. In summary, Snaps are private, temporary messages sent to specific individuals, while Stories are public, time-limited compilations of Snaps visible to all your friends.
