If you still have access to the mobile number registered to your account, select Get a Text or Get a WhatsApp Text (if you have WhatsApp installed). You can also select Email if you can still access the recovery email address registered to your PayPal account. For this example, let's select Get an Email. Then, click Next.
Enter the 6-digit code sent by PayPal and click Submit.
Enter a unique password and retype it to confirm. Then, click Save Password. We also recommend logging out of all of your devices.
If you notice strange activities on your PayPal account, note that you can also change your password once you are already signed in. Here's how to do it.
Sign back in to your PayPal account and click Settings. You'll find the Settings icon beside Log Out.
To edit your password, click the word "Update" next to "Password".
To change your password, you'll need to enter your current password first. Then, type in a new password for your account. Confirm the new password by retyping it and clicking Change Password.
Are you using PayPal to receive payments or wages? For remote workers, securing your PayPal account is essential. So, we recommend setting up your Passkeys and enabling 2-step verification.
To do this, just click Manage under Passkeys and Update under 2-step Verification. Then, follow the on-screen instructions to set them up successfully. Once successfully configured, you should receive a confirmation email from PayPal verifying that your additional security features have been activated.
Don't have security questions yet? We recommend adding them for account protection. To do this, just go back to the Security tab and click 'Create' next to Security Questions.
It's better to use fake answers for the security questions. However, do make sure that you can remember your answers.
After changing your password, don't forget to further secure your account by enabling two-step verification and setting up a passkey. It’s also a good idea to add security questions in case you need to recover your account in the future. Simply follow the steps above to configure these security features. For ongoing protection, update your password periodically, especially if you notice any suspicious activity on your PayPal account. If you’ve changed your email address or phone number, be sure to update your PayPal profile as well. Still have questions about resetting your PayPal password? GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
