It happens to the best of us. You may be in a hurry, tired or just not paying attention when you swipe your card at checkout and get charged for something that wasn't supposed to be on there. If this has happened to you, and the charge is from Forever21, you may wonder how to dispute the charge. The good news is that disputing a charge from Forever21 is relatively easy. All you have to do is follow the proper procedure. Here is the appropriate process.

What Should I Do Ahead of Submitting a Dispute?

Before you submit a dispute, you should do a few things. First, make sure that the charge is incorrect. Sometimes, we may forget what we bought or the amount we were charged. Check your bank statement and receipt to ensure that the charge is erroneous before submitting a dispute — contact customer support with any questions.

Once you have confirmed that the charge is incorrect, gather the following information:

  1. The full name of the Forever21 store where the purchase was made

  2. The date of the purchase

  3. The amount of the purchase

  4. What you were charged for (item, tax, and shipping)

  5. The last four digits of your credit card number

Once you have all this information together, you are ready to submit a dispute.

How To Initiate a Dispute Charge From Forever21?

There are two ways to initiate a disputed charge from Forever21. You can either do it online or over the phone.

To initiate a disputed charge online, go to the Forever21 website and click on "Contact Us." Once you are on the contact us page, click on "Credit Card Charges" and fill out the form. Be sure to include all of the information you gathered earlier, including the store's name, the date of purchase and the amount of purchase.

To initiate a disputed charge over the phone, call customer service. Have all of your information ready to give to the representative when you call. This will include the same information as listed above.

What Happens After I Initiate a Dispute?

Once you have initiated a dispute, Forever21 will investigate the charge. They may contact you for more information or get your side of the story. Once they have all of the information, they will decide on whether to refund the charge or not.

If Forever21 decides to refund the charge, the money will be credited back to your account within a few business days. If they choose not to refund the amount, the dispute will be closed, and you will not receive a refund.

It's important to note that you can only initiate a dispute for charges made in the last 60 days. If the charge is older than 60 days, you can no longer dispute it.

Can I Cancel a Dispute I Submitted?

If you have submitted a dispute and decide that you want to cancel it, you can. However, you will only be able to do this if Forever21 has not already decided on the charge. Call customer service or go online and fill out the contact us form to cancel a dispute. Be sure to include your name, credit card information and the dispute number.

Can I Dispute a Pending Charge?

Unfortunately, you cannot dispute a pending charge. A pending charge is a charge that has not been processed by the credit card company yet. It will show up on your account as "pending" until processed.

Once processed, it becomes a "completed" charge and can no longer be disputed. If you see a pending order on your account, do not dispute it. Wait until the payment is processed, and then dispute it if you believe it is incorrect.
