How Do I Set Up a New Bill Pay Payee with First Republic Bank?

Jul 13, 2023

First Republic Bank offers a bill-pay service. If you pay a business with this method, First Republic Bank will send the amount you specified for that payee. The bank will make an electronic payment from your account to the payee's account based on the guidelines and rules you set.

Here are the steps to set up a new bill pay payee with First Republic Bank.

1. Log In to Your First Republic Bank Account

You need the correct login information to log in to your First Republic Bank account. Go to your First Republic Bank homepage and click Login. Once your account loads, enter the email address associated with your account and your password. Then click Sign In.

2. Choose Bill Pay

Choose Account Details and click Payees. It will take you to a page with your current bill-paying options. Click View All Payees. This will bring you to a page to see your bill-paying accounts and their respective payees.

If you don't see a bill pay option, check that it's not disabled in your security settings.

3. Choose Add a Payee

Select the Pay Bills tab under More Actions and click Add a Payee. Choose New to move through each field if this is a new payee. If you add an existing payee that you used before, select Existing to skip fields you already filled out.

Enter your new payee's information on the following screen. If you have multiple accounts with First Republic, choose the account for which this payee should be set up.

4. Verify the Payee's Information

Verify the payee's name and address information. Verify that the recipient's name and address are correct. Entering the information into First Republic Bank's system ensures you pay the intended account holder.

If there are any discrepancies, contact the payee directly or test a small payment before proceeding with a larger one.

5. Set Up Recurring Payments (Optional)

Setting up recurring payments with your First Republic Bank account is a great way to ensure you never forget an important monthly payment. It's also a good way to automatically pay the correct amount since your biller can't choose how much money to take out of your account each time.

6. Review and Submit the Payment to Payee

Review the payment and recipients to ensure everything is correct, then click Submit.

7. Confirm Payment

Confirm a payment by tapping Confirm on the Pay screen. Tap the name of your payee. This will take you to that person's transaction history so you can confirm they received money from you.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for First Republic Bank Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
