Lost or delayed baggage is the last thing you want to experience as a traveler, but Finnair does its best to make it easier for you to make a report. You can do it in person with the Arrivals Service desk or go online. The airlines will then update you with the next steps regarding your baggage.
Founded in November 1923, Finnair is the largest airline in Finland and currently has 116 destinations around the world. This airline is very safe, and there haven't been any hull-loss or fatal accidents since 1963. You can imagine with such a safety track record, there's demand for this airline. What do you do as a traveler if you lose your baggage? This guide will help you. Read on to learn more.
To begin, you must go to the Arrivals Service desk in the arrival hall. The Finnair agents there will create a report and then provide you with the reference number.
You also have the option of filling out the baggage tracing form which is located in the contact and request forms section of the customer care tab. Please note that this form requests as much detail as possible but there are some fields that are mandatory; first and last name, address and contact information, your flight details and a description of your lost baggage.
If you report the missing baggage in person, you can use the reference number to track the status of your claim at Finnair's website. The World Tracer is also located in the contact and request forms section.
If you have any questions, please call Finnair's customer service agents and they'll be happy to assist.
Rest assured that Finnair will do their best to locate your missing baggage. If your baggage was delayed, you will receive fair compensation for any necessary items you had to buy as long as you use the feedback form within 21 days of receiving your baggage. The airline will keep you updated on the status by text or email. If you receive any of these messages, it's important to follow the instructions exactly.
If you haven't received your baggage within 72 hours of making the report, Finnair asks that you provide more information through the baggage tracing form online.
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Finnair in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our How Do I Recover Lost Baggage on Finnair? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
