Dropbox lets you share and store files big or small from any device, and also offers additional features, such as syncing and file backup. You can choose from a free plan, which allows you to store up to 2 GB of files, or opt for a paid plan. With Dropbox, you'll also be able to update your account information easily. Log In To Your Dropbox Account

Sign in with your email address and password. Dropbox may also ask for a code, which will be sent to your email address. The code is only used for security purposes. Check your email for the code and enter it in the 6-digit code field and tap Continue.

Go To Settings

Tap your profile photo and click "Settings."

Edit Details in the General Tab

Your personal account is in the General Tab.

In this tab, you'll be able to change your profile picture, name, personal email, and even the language. Tap 'Edit' and follow the on-screen instructions to update your account details successfully. Check the example below.

Change Your Name

For example, if you want to change your name, simply tap "Edit" next to "Name" and wait for the box to appear. Enter your new name and tap Change Name.

To update your Dropbox password, follow the steps below.

Go to the Security Tab

You can find this next to the General tab. Just tap Change password to update your Dropbox password.

Enter Your Old and Type In Your New Password

If you can't remember your password, consider just resetting it by clicking Forgot Password. Dropbox will send a password reset email to help you change your password. Users who want to update their password must enter both the old password and the new password. Then, click Change Password.

In your Dropbox account, you'll also be able to update the alerts you want to receive. Go to the Notifications tab and choose the alerts or news you want to receive from Dropbox. Uncheck the items you don't want to include. Some of the alerts or emails you can receive include a large number of files, when a new device is linked or a new app is connected, tips on using Dropbox, and surveys. We recommend checking all the alerts for security purposes. If you check "a new device is linked", you will know if another device is using your Dropbox account. This way, you can report it to Dropbox and recover your account.

Update Your Dropbox Membership

You can also update your membership with Dropbox. For example, they may offer you a free 30-day trial, allowing you to use approximately 2TB of space, which will come in handy when transferring huge files. Simply click Try free for 30 days and follow the on-screen instructions to update your account membership.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Dropbox Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
