They can transfer money to other accounts, deposit checks, pay bills and replace bank cards using these accounts. However, you will need your username and password for you to login into the account.

You cannot access your online banking account if you enter the wrong username or password. Therefore, you need to reset your credentials if you forgot them. Below is a guide on how to reset a username and password with Bank of America.

Reset Your Password Using the Bank of America Mobile Application

Download this application if you do not have it. The process is quite simple and will only take a few minutes. Follow these steps when resetting your username and password.

  1. Open the Bank of America mobile application. You will be required to enter your username and password.
  2. Below the blanks provided, you will see "forgot online ID and password" option, click on it.
  3. A new page will appear prompting you to enter the last six digits of your account number. If you do not know your account number, look for one of your paper bank statements and retrieve it from there.
  4. Enter your social security number (SSN) and click on the "continue" option. If you do not have a social security number, click on the "don't have an SSN or TIN" option.
  5. You will be prompted to enter your savings account number. Enter it and click on the "continue" option.
  6. Enter your debit card pin and its last six digits in the blanks that will appear and click "continue". You will be required to enter and verify a new password. Enter a unique and strong password.
  7. You will then get a confirmation message saying that your username and password have been reset.
  8. Log into your Bank of America online banking account using the new credentials. If you do not get the password reset confirmation message, contact Bank of America.

Reset Your Password Using the Bank of America Website

The process will only take a few seconds. However, you need to know your bank account and personal details. Follow these steps when resetting your Bank of America username and password.

  1. Open the Bank of America official website.
  2. On the top left-hand-side, a box with blanks will appear requiring you to sign in to your online bank account. Click on the "help options" below the blanks.
  3. Several options will pop-up. Click on the "forgot pass code" option. You will be given instructions on how to reset your password and username.

You can contact Bank of America if you want to reset your username and password. A representative from the bank will guide you through the password reset process. However, you will be required to identify who you are and give your bank account details.
