I've been using TurboTax Deluxe provided by T Rowe Price for many years. This time, I noticed I'm accessing it through the cloud instead of downloading it to my desktop. I prefer having an icon on my desktop for direct access. It would be helpful if I could import my [redacted] tax return and have the option to use forms instead of the question-answer process. Even though I believe I remember my password from last year, I might have created a new one due to some typing errors and forgetfulness. If I can't resolve it, I'd appreciate being able to speak with a support representative. Thank you. -Jim

I recently received a notice from the New Mexico Taxation Revenue Audit and Compliance division regarding issues with my state income taxes for tax years [redacted] and [redacted]. They claim I owe $[redacted].59 in taxes, penalties, and interest. This has come as a shock to me. I used TurboTax to handle my state payments and assumed everything was taken care of. It seems there was an error in the software that led to this oversight. I am unsure if I purchased the insurance that covers such situations. My husband and I relocated from New Mexico in [redacted] following his retirement, and in the process, some of our records went missing. We are unsure of the whereabouts of those tax returns. Any assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Helen D. Beal

Hello, it appears there may be a technical issue on your website causing me to be stuck in a loop while trying to review my federal taxes. When I attempt to review my taxes, I encounter a message related to the Qualified Business Inc Deduction Summary that prevents me from proceeding. The only clickable option is to continue, which leads me back to the initial screen without the ability to opt-out or make changes. Furthermore, the Self-Employment tax section seems to be malfunctioning as well, showing as "Not started" with discrepancies in the calculations. Despite trying different adjustments and methods, the issue persists, cycling back to the initial page. I have attempted various actions to no avail, including adjusting values and toggling options without success. I am seeking assistance with resolving these software navigation challenges without needing to consult a tax professional.

I filed my [redacted] tax return this year ([redacted]) because I missed the chance last year ([redacted]) due to family issues. I'm still learning and worry I mistakenly claimed my daughter on my [redacted] tax return this year while her father claimed her last year. We alternate yearly per our parenting plan. I am a stay-at-home mother, and my daughter has been with me full-time since [redacted], while my fiance has financially supported us. Can my fiance claim my daughter this year since I am supposed to but have no income? Once I fix the mistake on my recently filed tax return, is it acceptable for my fiance to claim my daughter, considering he has supported us financially and she has lived with us since [redacted], even though our parenting agreement only mentions the mother and father alternating years for claim?

I used TurboTax to file my [redacted] return online. When I tried to file my [redacted] return, I couldn't access my old account because I no longer have the same phone number and I deleted my old email. I created a new account, but I need to retrieve my [redacted] return to get my AGI for this year. I need help to recover my old account quickly. TurboTax's current options to reset the password via email or phone are not working for me. I am running out of time, so please provide a solution when you contact me. TurboTax should assist me with accessing my old account since the current options are not viable for me.

When I reached the Missouri return section and got to the [redacted] insurance question, the free version of Turbo Tax wouldn't let me proceed. It repeatedly redirected me to upgrade to the Turbo Tax Deluxe version for $39.95. There was mention of an additional form required because of a tax law change related to ObamaCare, which could result in a new write-off and not utilizing the full yearly credit. The projected Missouri refund stood at $[redacted] with this credit. Despite usually owing Missouri about $[redacted] annually for the past 10-15 years, I considered the $39 upgrade a reasonable cost, as I could end up $[redacted] ahead. After upgrading to deluxe, the estimated refund for state and federal taxes ranged between $4,[redacted] and $4,[redacted]. However, I encountered an error message stating my state couldn't be completed due to unavailable forms. The message advised checking my email for updates. Later, on 1/28/19, I received an email notifying me that my state return was ready for completion. Surprisingly, all it needed was a signature and not an additional form as initially indicated. My refund amount reduced drastically to $17, creating confusion and frustration. I believe Turbo Tax misled me into upgrading to Deluxe unnecessarily, costing me an extra $[redacted]. This experience has left me dissatisfied with their services and questioning their business practices.

I've been using TurboTax for years without any issues. However, yesterday I spent over 5 hours working on my taxes, and everything was going smoothly until it was time to file. At around 5:30 p.m., I encountered a problem where the program wouldn't allow me to select the $19.99 payment option for the state tax, and there was no "back" button to navigate. The only alternative presented was to have $39.99 deducted from my refund, which I didn't want. After a lengthy chat with a TurboTax agent and some advice to clear cookies and reboot, I sought help from GeekSquad at Best Buy. Despite hours spent troubleshooting, I couldn't make the payment with my credit card. I want to resolve this by paying the $19.99 with my credit card as intended, not having $39.99 deducted from my refund. Thank you.

I used Turbo Tax Premier in [redacted]. While filing my return, I mistakenly clicked the radio button for the Issue (ISS) date on the Additional ID verification page. Now, I can't clear the radio button, and I am unable to move to the next page. An error message prompts me to enter the issue date. Interestingly, this error message also appears on my spouse's portion, even though I didn't click a radio button for her section. I need assistance on how to clear the radio button and resolve the error messages to proceed with filing my returns promptly. Thank you. - R. Caldwell

I have a question regarding my situation. I am currently on active duty in the military and was deployed from May to January. In September, my wife and son left Texas, where I am stationed. My wife and son were under my household since we moved to Texas in December [redacted] until they left. I was the primary provider during this time. My wife claimed our son on her tax return, but I would like to know what the chances are if I claim him on my return instead. I want to ensure that if the IRS contacts us, I will be in the right. Even though I was on military orders, I want to confirm that my understanding is correct.

I initially attempted to file my taxes via mail but now prefer to e-file. I am confused why only my federal refund is showing up, and not my state refund for this tax year. Additionally, I am wondering why there are charges for filing my NJ taxes and for Deluxe services, as I did not intend to select Deluxe, but was seemingly forced to due to my [redacted] form. I simply want to e-file both federal and state taxes. I would like to confirm the status of my state tax return, as it is not reflected in my total refund amount for [redacted].

The [redacted] Premier TurboTax is not importing all the previous year's data from my files, particularly for items like depreciation and refinance charges for rentals. This oversight can potentially lead to missed deductions. I expect the TurboTax team to address this issue by updating the software to automatically pull all relevant data from prior years. My resolution is for them to rectify this problem and ensure that all deductions are accurately incorporated into the [redacted] software program.

I have TurboTax Deluxe [redacted] on my computer. I received a notification that the missing government forms are now available in the latest download for installation. Unfortunately, when I attempt to download the update, the program gets stuck on "Looking for updates" and freezes. An error message I don't understand pops up. I appreciate any assistance in resolving this issue. Thank you. -Wes L.

Last year, I used the File Free app to have my taxes done. I was supposed to receive a refund, but instead of depositing the money in my savings account, the app attempted to withdraw funds six times, leading to my account being closed. I have been attempting to contact someone to address this issue. Why would the app try to withdraw money from my account when I was expecting a deposit from my tax return?

I was using the TurboTax app to file my tax return, as recommended. The app is telling me I owe money instead of receiving a refund, possibly because it thinks I didn't file my taxes last year, which is incorrect. I want to clear my information and start over because I'm finding it difficult to use the app and would prefer to speak with an agent. I tried contacting TurboTax by phone, but it seems I have to pay to speak with someone. Since I haven't finished the process, I want to clear my information and start fresh, or get help promptly. It doesn't seem fair that as a veteran filing my taxes, I'm encountering so many issues with this app.

I am having trouble obtaining a refund on my TurboTax account. It seems that due to an error in one of my answers, the software is indicating that I do not need to file for a refund this year without even considering my W-2s. Since I am using the free edition, I am unable to contact a customer service representative by phone. I am extremely dissatisfied with this level of service and am contemplating reporting Intuit to the Better Business Bureau and switching to another tax service like H&R Block. I have previously dealt with Intuit's executive relations due to issues with their system and received a refund. I find it unacceptable that I cannot reach a human for assistance without a fee. TurboTax did not even request one of my W-2s and based everything on last year's information and irrelevant questions. I am considering turning to H&R Block, although I prefer not to pay the higher cost. I need immediate help with this problem, or I will escalate my complaint to the Better Business Bureau regarding Intuit's poor service.

When I reached the end of submitting my information, the computer indicated I owed $79.98, which was unexpected since I believed the service was free as advertised. In the past year, I could have filed with H&R Block for free. Additionally, there were issues with efiling, so I had to resort to mailing my returns due to IRS problems. Unfortunately, I faced additional charges when attempting to seek assistance through the chat feature, which was disappointing. I'm currently awaiting IRS confirmation to create an account, which is causing delays. Retrieving my [redacted] AGI has been challenging because my saved PDF file is inaccessible. Dealing with these challenges has made this tax filing experience extremely frustrating. I plan to handle my taxes differently next year by handling everything independently.

I placed an order for a Turbo Tax card when I filed my taxes online, expecting it to arrive on the 5th. After receiving confirmation emails that it was shipped and at my local post office for delivery within two days, I anticipated getting it on the 6th. Unfortunately, it hasn't arrived. Upon contacting the card company, they informed me they have no records of any cards or account numbers for me and suggested reaching out to Turbo Tax instead. I'm hesitant to request a new card from the card company to avoid any potential mix-ups with my account or card numbers. I'd appreciate it if they could track the original card or issue a replacement. Any assistance in resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

Dear TurboTax, On 02/11/[redacted], I referred my friend Brandon Delfosse to TurboTax. He successfully e-filed his taxes using your services through the referral link I provided. I should have received an Amazon Gift Card as a reward for this referral, but I have not received it yet. My email address is [redacted] Please kindly send me the Amazon Gift Card as promised for referring Brandon. This issue has occurred with previous referrals as well, including Melissa Jones ([redacted]) and Melissa Camic ([redacted]), where I did not receive the promised Amazon Gift Cards for their referrals either. I appreciate it if you could resolve this matter promptly in your system so that I can receive all the Amazon Gift Cards owed to me. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Vanessa West

I recently attempted to file my West Virginia state tax returns through your site. Unfortunately, they were rejected due to an error in your system. As a result, I had to print them out and mail them myself. I am requesting a refund for the fees I paid to file my West Virginia returns as the rejection was not my fault, but rather an issue with your platform. The rejection occurred twice, both times due to an invalid email address not being included. Despite receiving assistance from two of your specialists during the process, we were unable to locate where to input the email address. The system this year seems to have significant flaws as there was no available option to include the necessary information. I hope to be refunded for this inconvenience and not be charged for a service that was not successfully completed.

Hello, I recently completed my taxes with TurboTax. I have used it in the past and find it easy and convenient. I am concerned about the fees. Despite the advertised $0 state and federal, I was charged over $[redacted], including a $40 state fee that was supposed to be included in the $0 guarantee. I made sure not to select the deluxe option since my tax situation is simple with just two W-2s and student loan interest. I am unsure where the fees came from and don't want to start over. Last year, I used Credit Karma Tax and it was truly free as advertised. I prefer TurboTax for its format and reputation but would like the $0 federal and state as promised in the ads. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you and have a good day. -Kristin M.
