I've received three invoices from Magic Jack over the past summer months. Each notice included the date and amount for renewal, but my account was not renewed. After the third notice, I purchased a new Magic Jack kit and selected a new phone number. Upon reviewing my bank statements, I noticed that the amounts had already been withdrawn, though I don't remember authorizing automatic payments from my credit card. Magic Jack is supposed to request permission before charging my card. After numerous phone calls to explain my situation, Magic Jack assigned me a new number. However, the account statement only shows my new number for a one-year period.

Hello,
I am having trouble registering my new MJ Home device. I am using a MacBook Pro from [redacted] with Mojave. When I click the 'Place Order' button, a wheel appears, and I receive an error message saying, "An error occurred while retrieving the information requested." Additionally, a window pops up mentioning a "lipo" command in French (as my MacOS is set to French). Please assist. Thank you.

I am experiencing issues with my MagicJack Plus VOIP service. Over the past few months, my calls have had static and words are being clipped. Some key points to mention are that I switched to Hilltop Broadband as my internet provider approximately 6 months ago, as my previous provider, Rise Broadband, was unreliable. I live in an area where wireless internet is the only option available. Despite trying various troubleshooting steps, such as changing cables and using a new phone directly connected to the MagicJack Plus device, the problem persists. After contacting MagicJack, they conducted a speed test using sourceforge.net/speedtest/. They mentioned that my Latency/Ping at [redacted] ms is too high (their maximum is 25 ms) for their product to function optimally. My download speed is 18 Mbps, upload speed 6 Mbps, and packet loss at 0%. I also ran other speed tests showing latency/ping ranging from 9 to 35 ms, upload speeds from 7 to 8+ Mbps, and download speeds from 20 to 28+ Mbps. I have my doubts about their assessment and wonder where MagicJack's server is located, possibly in Taiwan.

With my current landline provider shutting down in January, I need to switch to a new phone company. I am considering purchasing a magicJack and connecting it to my router in the back room. Can I link an extension phone line from that room into another port on the magicJack to allow the phone call to reach my landline phone and answering machine on the opposite side of the house? Essentially, I aim to avoid having my phone physically connected to the magicJack in the back room to prevent needing to go there each time a call comes in or to check voicemail.

Hello,
I am reaching out as my uncle in Colombia has been a loyal user of magicJack for many years, renewing his subscription for years in advance. - Uncle's email: [redacted]

Since July, we have trialed your service and have opted to return to Spectrum due to dissatisfaction with our phone service quality. We have had the same phone number for over 50 years and expect to have it back. Our Spectrum representative contacted MagicJack on December 3rd, [redacted], to initiate the porting process. Despite the initial estimate of 3 to 15 days for the transfer, it has now been 23 days. We have faced an issue where our number was almost reassigned to a different MagicJack customer, causing confusion and inconvenience. We request prompt assistance in successfully porting our number to Spectrum, allowing us to put this matter to rest. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

My MagicJack Plus is currently connected to my router/modem. I also have two computers connected wirelessly. Initially, everything worked well, but for the last month, my MagicJack has become unreliable. It only works about 10% of the time and frequently drops calls. The red light on the MagicJack turns off during these failures, which happen most of the time now. Different error messages have appeared, with the most recent one stating "check your internet connection error code 1." My internet connection remains strong, never disconnecting from my two computers. Could my MagicJack be malfunctioning? Any suggestions?

I believe there might have been a mistake in my email address. I renewed my account with number [redacted], and despite spending hours trying to set up my Magic Jack, I haven't had any success. The correct email address is [redacted], not Gmail as mistakenly noted by the representative. When I open the icon, it doesn't recognize my device on the same computer I've always used. Additionally, my phone number shows as all zeros, [redacted]. I would appreciate it if you could help me get this working or provide a refund. I still have the old device and everything should be the same. Thank you.

Hello, I have been attempting to reach out to you numerous times, primarily via phone, regarding several issues that I believe can be resolved quickly through verbal communication rather than email or chat. One of the problems appears to be related to your billing system. Despite making the required payment, I continue to receive prompts to renew without acknowledgment of the payment on my end. Additionally, when I receive incoming calls, I encounter difficulties where the caller can hear me but I cannot hear them upon answering, which is a recurring issue especially with calls from close family members on alternate phone lines. My attempts to address this concern led me to a cell-phone specialist, although the issue pertains to a landline related to MagicJack. Engaging with customer service has been challenging due to extended wait times and excessive chatter before resolution, which is unsatisfactory. Furthermore, upon checking voicemails, I observe a persistent problem where I cannot hear messages left by callers, adding to the existing frustrations. I suspect these issues may stem from overlooking the renewed payment. Thank you.

I experienced static issues and reached out to customer support. They recommended a replacement device, assuring me it would come with a year of service. However, upon receiving the device, I found out it did not include service. I have made several calls, waiting up to 30 minutes on hold and using the callback feature, but have had little success. Billing redirected me to sales and vice versa. Now, I have been informed that the replacement device does not include service, and it is past the 30-day refund window. Instead of purchasing a new device for $50 as advised, I was charged $38 for the replacement device and now an additional $39 for service. Despite acknowledging the misinformation given, the company refuses to reimburse or correct the error. I have requested to speak to supervisors, but communication has been lacking. I am seeking for them to honor the initial agreement and include the service as promised. I am willing to pay the standard price for a new device, but I find it unfair to incur extra charges due to their mistake and the lack of adequate customer service.

Hello, my name is Sarah Kelloway from Barrie, Ontario, Canada. In the past, I had MagicJack Plus with the phone number [redacted]. Recently, I purchased MagicJack Go but only connected it to a phone number yesterday after speaking with an agent. I provided my card number for the setup, but now I have no phone service because they are asking for additional registration and fees. I was under the impression the services were good for two years with a yearly fee of ten dollars to maintain my phone number. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I kindly request a refund of my payment. Thank you, Sarah Kelloway.

I've been using MagicJack for two years, and I've been experiencing serious issues with phone call quality. The recipients of my calls repeatedly mention that they can't hear me clearly. Despite chatting with support previously, the problem persists. This issue occurs whether I'm calling from Florida or Canada. I contacted the billing department in early January, less than a month after renewing my subscription, but they refuse to refund me. I feel stuck with a phone service that isn't working properly, and none of the troubleshooting guides I've tried have helped fix the problem.

I am experiencing issues with my MagicJack on my iMac. The telephone messages recorded are unclear and hard to understand. Additionally, I keep receiving renewal notices even though my registration is valid for another three years as confirmed by a customer service representative. It is frustrating that these issues persist, and I am unable to speak to a live person for assistance. As a result, I have to spend more time putting my concerns in writing. I appreciate your attention to these matters. Thank you, Anthony Tye.

My Magic Jack has never worked despite numerous attempts over several weeks. I even spent over an hour on a long-distance call from URUGUAY trying to resolve the issue. The problem was eventually fixed in just a few minutes. However, I later found out that my Magic Jack wouldn't function until I received a new number, since my old one was no longer working. Now I'm left waiting for the service to be activated, hoping I'll enjoy it. I used to love my Vonage service and I'm hoping for a positive experience with Magic Jack as well.

I have been using MJ service (Gizmo) for about 9 years. Last week, I stopped receiving calls from POTS landlines like Verizon FIOS while still receiving calls from cell phones and other VOIP services like Comcast. I can make calls from my MJ number to these landline numbers, but callers trying to reach me from landlines receive a message that the call cannot be completed. If I cannot resolve this issue, I will have to cancel my MJ service as I am missing important calls from doctors' offices, the hospital, and businesses. Can anyone help me with this problem?

Hello Magic Jack,
I recently added $[redacted].00 to my account. The issue arose when my membership showed a balance paid up to the year [redacted], but I could not make calls as my phone number ([redacted]) was not recognized by customer service. I have had this number for over 10 years. I added $[redacted].00 assuming there was a mistake in your ledger, which now shows my expiration date as [redacted]. I am 83 years old and will not live long enough to reach [redacted]. Please verify this error and refund my $[redacted].00. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Archie L.

I have not used my Magic Jack account in a while, and now it seems to be dormant. I am experiencing the following issues:
- No dial tone on the phone, even after trying two different phones.
- Error message [redacted] is displayed.
- The Magic Jack Plus shows a blinking red light, a steady blue light, and a slow flashing green light.
- When attempting to call a number, I get a message stating, "Magic Jack Customer is not taking your call."
- I have tested with different cables (telephone and ethernet) and phones, but the results remain the same.
- I have restarted the router and modem.
I am currently logged into my account online. Is there a way to test my Magic Jack service from there?
