I purchased a Paperwhite Kindle as a Christmas present from my husband. The order was placed on 16th November, number [redacted]-[redacted], and I received it on the 17th. Since then, I have experienced multiple issues with the battery, both in terms of charging time and battery life. I have tried to work through the problems, but it has become increasingly frustrating as the device is not operating as expected. Interestingly, my husband also ordered one at the same time and he has had no issues with his. Additionally, the Kindle seems to freeze when I open it, requiring frequent reboots. Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated, as I would love to have a functioning device like my husband's.

My Kindle account and KDP account have been terminated due to confusion with emails and passwords. I have a functional Seller account and a regular amazon.com account that are working fine. I am looking to have my KDP account, especially my CreateSpace for hard copy books, accessible. I understand they have been linked, hence the request. Ideally, if I could use the account and password of my amazon.com account, it would be very helpful. I believe I have not engaged in any activities that would justify losing access to my KDP account. It seems to be just a mix-up with access information. I am providing an email address that is recognizable and used by Amazon. Thank you.

I recently deregistered my Kindle and registered it on a new Amazon account. After changing my login details on Amazon, I can't access my old library on my Kindle. Despite having two Amazon accounts, I'm unable to read books from both accounts on my device. It would be convenient if I could register my Kindle on both accounts since I purchase books on both.

Lately, we've come across a peculiar issue with our Kindle account. Despite having multiple devices like Kindles, iPads, and PCs with the Kindle app, we've noticed an unfamiliar account momentarily appearing when downloading an ebook. The account name consists of random alphanumeric characters such as A3KUGTOJMSOGUL and AOMMM5D3916DH, with no trace of it in our account settings. These phantom accounts quickly vanish, but the concern of potential unauthorized access to our Kindle account remains. With no visible impact on our account activities or purchases yet, the situation is perplexing and unsettling. Even though we've designated another device as the default, this mysterious account briefly takes over during downloads. It's crucial to address this issue promptly to ensure the security and functionality of our Kindle account.

I am reaching out to see if there is any connection to Kindle Direct Publishing. Recently, I have faced some challenges after experiencing a theft and being hospitalized. A generous friend covered the costs for my upcoming book launch scheduled for May 3, [redacted]. However, I was devastated to learn that the company organizing the event has gone into administration, and the money spent on 10 books for the launch is now lost. Despite this setback, I have been diligently searching for an alternative affordable publishing option, first in the UK and now in the USA. Today, I completed the registration process for Kindle Direct Publishing but was disheartened to discover that it may take up to 72 hours for my book to go live, which is too late for my launch. In the past, CreateSpace would provide complimentary copies in time for events. I am urgently seeking assistance to have books available for my event, and I believe Kindle Direct Publishing offers the most economical solution.

On January 28th, I reported an issue regarding my Kindle books not showing up on my iPhone and iPad. This problem arose due to having two separate Amazon accounts linked to different marketplaces, one in the US and the other in the UK. Consequently, the ebooks I bought under one account are not visible on the other. The initial problem occurred when I synced my iPhone and iPad with a new credit card, which led to books purchased under the old credit card and email not being displayed. I have provided all the necessary details from Amazon and I am seeking assistance in consolidating all my purchased books to appear on my Kindle. Thank you for your help. - Liesje

My e-books, which I believed in so much and published through Kindle Select, have not made any sales according to the Kindle sales dashboard. This is really disheartening for me. I was counting on these sales to cover the expenses of revising the chapters and updating the cover to meet the necessary standards. I am already in a tight financial situation. It's frustrating to think that after 30 years of hard work, there is nothing to show for it just because I am Nigerian. Are my works not good enough? They have been recognized and praised by editorial boards of several traditional publishing houses in the past. Please lend me a hand in not letting this dream fade away.

I have been experiencing issues with my Kindle account for the past month. Every day, I am locked out and asked to reset my password due to hackers accessing my account. As an author, this is incredibly frustrating and unfair. Kindle is user-friendly, but the lack of proper security measures is allowing hackers to take advantage of writers like me. I urge the Kindle team to implement stronger firewall protection to prevent unauthorized access and protect the hard work of genuine writers. This situation is unacceptable, and it's important to address it promptly to ensure that my content remains secure.

It appears that various individuals have modified and published my work on your website without my permission. I am struggling financially and have repeatedly emphasized this situation. Without any benefits, I am at a loss as to how to proceed. While others have found success on Kindle, I feel entirely left behind. I believe Kindle's actions are unjust, not only towards me but also towards other writers facing similar challenges. If my books are not made available online promptly, I will escalate this matter to trading standards. It seems that Kindle is favoring hackers over genuine authors.

I am continuously surprised and frustrated by the numerous typographical errors in every Kindle book I download. This issue has persisted for years, making it challenging to address. In a recent book, a heading read "MURDER IN THE RENDING ROOM" instead of "Murder in the Reading Room." These errors are rarely present in the actual books. It is disappointing that these mistakes are not caught before thousands of readers receive them. Charging full prices for Kindle books with such errors is unacceptable. I will no longer report each mistake individually as it is your responsibility to ensure the quality of the copies transferred to the Kindle. Asking customers to take the time to report errors caused by your negligence is unfair and disrespectful. Amazon should take more accountability and not shift the burden to customers. Disappointed in the lack of consideration for readers and the poor handling of these issues. If your response will only be an empty apology, please refrain from it. I am contemplating addressing this widespread problem in an Op-Ed for the NY Times, as this is a common concern among readers. - Dr. S Michaels

Today, my Kindle suddenly stopped charging. I tried different cords and outlets, but nothing worked. This is my fourth Kindle since my first purchase on 2/15/[redacted]. The first one died after 6.5 months, and Amazon replaced it for free on 9/1/[redacted]. The second lasted less than 2 years due to a charging port issue. The third one gave out today, 5/15/[redacted], lasting 4 years and 2 months. Once again, I was out of warranty. When I contacted customer service, they offered a 25% discount if I bought a new device immediately. I purchased another Paperwhite, but now, after reading reviews, I am unsure due to many negative comments. Amazon should improve their product quality given the profits they make. It's disappointing that the Kindles don't last longer. I haven't mishandled the device, as it's just charging. If I hadn't invested in so many Kindle books, I would consider other brands.

I am experiencing repeated rejections from Kindle regarding my paperback cover. Despite adding the recommended 0.[redacted]" (3.2 mm) of space along the top, bottom, and sides as advised, my cover has been rejected five times. Each time we make adjustments, it still fails to meet the requirements and I continue to receive the same rejection email. I am at a loss on how to proceed as I have already made multiple corrections. I urgently need assistance with this issue as I have eager readers waiting for the paperback to be released. I purchased a new Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas but only started using it during my recent trip to Cyprus. Unfortunately, I encountered an issue where it displayed an operating temperature warning and shut off, making it difficult to read for long periods. I reached out to Kindle support, who suggested that the Paperwhite may be more suitable for reading in the sun compared to the Kindle Fire. I am concerned whether this is a common problem or if my device is defective. I am eager to resolve this before my return trip in July, as I intend to bring my Kindle with me.

I recently purchased Kindle books from the Hatchet series by Gary Paulsen. I mistakenly ordered duplicate copies of some books and contacted your customer service to address the issue. Although I was assured that it was resolved, my daughter received extra copies of two books. I only require one copy each of book 2 (The River) and book 4 (Brian's Return). We no longer need book 3 (Brian's Return) as it was borrowed from the library. I would like to purchase book 5 (Brian's Hunt) for my daughter's account under the email [redacted]

Dear Sir or Madam, My Kindle app on my Android phone is not allowing me to download any of my books. Although my library is visible, every time I attempt to download a book, I receive an error message stating, "There was an error downloading your book. Please try again later." I have attempted to resolve this issue over the last few days by uninstalling and reinstalling the app multiple times to no avail. It has been functioning flawlessly for the past couple of years until now. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Best regards, Andy Clarkson

My KDP account was recently terminated due to "rights and content" issues but unfortunately, I was not provided with any specific details regarding the reasons for this decision. Despite my attempts to seek clarification, I have only received generic responses stating that the termination will be upheld. I want to clarify that I had been selling a range of adult titles under a pseudonym in addition to my mainstream fiction, using a separate account for the adult content, which I now understand violates the Terms of Service. This was an oversight on my part, and I had no intention of deceiving or misleading anyone. I simply wanted to differentiate between my different genres and protect my identity in relation to my mainstream work. I am seeking advice on how I can address this issue, extend my apologies, and request reinstatement of my account. Thank you, J.A.

I have been using a 10-year-old Kindle without any issues, but now the battery is weak. I recently purchased the new Kindle 7, and it has been nothing but trouble. Only books I bought from Amazon are showing up on the Kindle app. I can't seem to get any other downloaded or emailed books to appear. My NetGalley downloads only show up on the home screen, cluttering it. This was not a problem with my old Kindle, tablet, or cell phones as all books showed up in the app. I'm frustrated as it feels like the new Kindle is pushing me to only read Amazon-purchased books, turning it into a marketing tool. I'm disappointed there were no instructions provided. I've spent hours searching for answers online to no avail. Why do the books in the documents file not show in the Kindle reader app? Why is the book file empty? Where are the books stored? If I can't use this new Kindle like my old one, I might have to return it and stick with the old device. My friend had a Kindle book on her phone from Amazon, and I let her use my credit card to purchase and read it. We removed my card from her account after canceling, but the $9.99 charge still occurs monthly. How can we resolve this issue and stop the charges? I am very upset! I've been trying to format my book "I Met A Moose That Likes To Drink Juice" for 10 days, and nobody has been able to assist me. Despite the efforts of five or six ladies from the local library, I find KDP's formatting process too complicated, especially adjusting the margins within the book's frame. It should be simpler, with the option to drag the manuscript page into the frame and save it directly. It's frustrating that KDP employees are not providing adequate support to authors despite being paid significant amounts.
