Hello, my name is Danielle H. I have been using H&R Block for my tax services since my child was a baby. I typically utilize their online tax filing service and have been satisfied, except for this year. After filing my federal and state returns, I received an email saying my federal return was rejected due to a self-employment deduction. Despite attempts to refile and speaking with online chat support, I encountered issues with the Emerald Card as my bank account. Despite efforts to resolve this with a phone call, my problem persists. I am frustrated as I cannot select my preferred method of receiving my refund. I seek assistance to resolve this promptly. I appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you for your time.

This is my second email regarding this issue. I recently visited the Monongahela office for tax assistance. Despite providing all necessary information, I was not informed about the IRS holding income taxes with EIC payments until mid-February. I needed a quick return, was told the IRS was processing returns starting on January 28th, but the extended delay was unexpected. If I had known this earlier, I would have saved over $[redacted] by going to my regular accountant who charges $[redacted] annually. I believe your employee should have disclosed this information, allowing me to wait for my accountant's appointment. Requesting some sort of adjustment on the fees due to being inadequately informed during the tax filing process.

I had the H&R Block tax advisor in New York enter the incorrect account number and routing number for my return. Currently in Florida, the service I've received has left me disappointed. On top of this, my refund is pending, and I can't get through to the IRS for help. The Brooksville Plaza location in Brooksville, Florida, is where this occurred, and I am urgently seeking a resolution. Although I had previously had positive experiences with H&R Block employees, a friend's comment prompted me to check my documentation, revealing the errors. Assistance is greatly needed to rectify this situation promptly.

I am using the H&R Block Business version to work on filing a K-1 Partnership return. The review process keeps showing an error regarding the partners listed. Even though only 3 individual partners are listed with their SSN's, the system prompts to apply for an EIN if partners are an entity. I have already tried deleting and reentering the partners, but the error persists.
Furthermore, when attempting to efile form [redacted], the program refuses to generate the return, stating that designated individual info must be completed for entities. As the partnership representative, I ensured I completed that part as instructed, skipping the entity section. However, the program insists that I fill out that section, even though I am not an entity. It won't let me override or proceed without additional entity information, including another EIN. I even tried completing the section as if I were an entity, but it still demanded more details.
I need help bypassing these issues to successfully create an efile return.

I recently filed my taxes for the first time with H&R Block and checked my state return status on the state website only to find that the amount was redeemed on February 7th. Despite waiting three days, I haven't received the deposit in my account or on my Emerald card. After contacting my tax preparer, who investigated the matter for several days, and my financial institution, no deposit was found. The tax preparer's supervisor was not very cooperative in resolving the issue. Even after multiple attempts reaching out to the state of Colorado, my financial institution, the tax preparer, and Axos Bank, no deposits have shown up. Unsure of the next steps, I seek additional guidance to resolve this situation.

I've been using H&R Block online to file my taxes for years. This year, I added my account number for direct deposit of my refunds but encountered an error when trying to send everything to a tax pro. Despite multiple attempts, the error persisted. Additionally, the documents I uploaded, like my W2, aren't visible, and I couldn't include [redacted] INT forms from my low-balance bank accounts as they were all below $10. I tried to add the figures but couldn't upload the documents. I also noticed a charge of $[redacted].62 on my credit card. Can you explain why I got the error message at the final step of the process? Your help is appreciated.

I have been using H&R Block for my tax returns for a few years, but have encountered issues with my [redacted], [redacted], and [redacted] returns. When I sought help in [redacted] from Wanda Delong at H&R Block, she assured me she would resolve my [redacted] tax concerns and also filed my [redacted] and [redacted] taxes for an additional fee. However, I am still waiting for my refunds and facing IRS letters requesting more information, despite providing Wanda with all the necessary documents. Wanda is consistently unavailable and fails to return my calls, citing excuses like the government shutdown. Being a single mother supporting my daughter and grandson while on disability, the refunds totaling over $10,[redacted] are crucial. I have paid Wanda over $1,[redacted] for assistance, expecting H&R Block to provide support. The lack of audit protection and unresolved IRS issues are causing severe stress. Despite holding records of all tax filings and payments made to Wanda, I am at a loss for what to do next.

I have a few questions and concerns that I need help with. First, I was told by an H&R Block representative that my state return has been received but not yet sent. Could you confirm if it has been sent, when it will be sent, and why the delay in sending it out? Secondly, the IRS stated that my federal refund should be direct deposited by 2/22/19, but I do not see any update on my H&R Block account. I also cannot view any information related to fees for the Emerald advance or refund advance. Lastly, I recently noticed a discrepancy between the name on my pre-paid card account (Tasha Hisman) and my tax return (Tasha Robbins). While both names use the same social security number, I’m concerned about any potential rejection by my bank. If rejected, could you inform me and is there an option to load the refund to my Emerald card account instead? I have loans and filing fees set to be deducted from my returns. Here are some details for reference:
- Filed Married Joint in zip code [redacted] on 1/22/19
- Accepted by IRS on 1/23/19
- Names:
Tasha Robbins
DOB: 05/15/[redacted]
Last 4 SS#: [redacted]
Charlie Hisman
DOB: 08/26/[redacted]
Last 4 SS#: [redacted]
Address: [redacted] Vermont-Rt [redacted], Newport Center VT, [redacted]

I hired H&R Block to prepare my taxes, and I am still awaiting my [redacted] and [redacted] tax refunds. Wanda Delong was the tax preparer, and she was supposed to resolve an audit for me, which she has not done. I paid her over $[redacted] for assistance with my taxes. I am receiving letters from the IRS stating I owe money. As a single mother raising my daughter and grandson, I am unsure of the next steps. I believed H&R Block would assist me in these situations, but I have been unable to reach Wanda, and she does not return my calls. Visits to her office result in excuses, like the recent government shutdown. I have already filed a complaint once before, and I am frustrated. Can someone please assist me? Thank you, Rachael Litts.

My taxes from [redacted], prepared at H&R Block, are currently under investigation by the IRS. I recently discovered that my agent left the company almost two months ago and I have not been contacted since. Despite my efforts to reach out to the LA office and the help desk, I have not received any assistance. I was promised a call back by Teresa from the LA office but never received one. After multiple attempts, I am still waiting for a response, spending considerable time and resources trying to get information that should have been communicated to me earlier, especially after paying for the "peace of mind" option. It is frustrating not knowing who is handling my case, especially when time is of the essence with the IRS. This lack of communication and support is incredibly disappointing and does not meet the standards of good customer service.
Thank you,
S. Marsden

FYI:
I receive American Social Security, Canadian Old Age Security, and Canadian Pension Plan income. The software instructed me to report NR4 income under Social Security, but did not provide a specific form for it. I entered these under additional Social Security items as a workaround.
It was challenging to find information on how to report OAS or CPP income because searching for those terms did not yield results. Only by searching for NR4 did I discover the instructions. I recommend adding a link reference for income from other countries and including the IRS exchange rate for converting to USD for improved guidance.

On January 22, [redacted], my spouse and I purchased Vanguard Roth IRAs. Upon realizing our AGIncome exceeded the eligibility, we informed Vanguard, and they terminated the IRAs on 3/15/18. Recently, we received [redacted]-R forms detailing the gross distribution and taxable amounts. While trying to input this data into my H&R Block software, it prompted me to amend my [redacted] tax return, even though the funds were distributed in [redacted]. After amending [redacted], the program incorrectly suggested amending my [redacted] return as well. The distribution codes on the [redacted]-R forms were "PJ, Excess contributions plus earnings, taxable in [redacted]" and "Early distribution from a Roth IRA." We, both being over 65 (83 and 69), wish to pay the taxes for the IRAs this year without revising [redacted]. I am encountering difficulties due to either regulations or the software. I am using H&R Block [redacted] Mac Deluxe Federal and State. --Ordelle

I used H&R Block for the last two tax years. This year, they said I owe for both years due to an unpaid balance from my previous year's taxes. I was surprised by the additional fees, as the advertised price was much lower. If I had known the total cost in advance, I would have opted out. It's frustrating that I wasn't informed about this earlier. I'm questioning how the previous year's payment was missed. The situation feels misleading, and I'm unhappy with the unexpected charges.

Last year, my brother's tax return was held by your company for four months, during which time you collected interest on his money and charged him a hefty fee. I suspect he was not the only one facing this issue, as it seems your unethical practices continue this year. Your lack of conscience is evident in the way you handle your clients' funds. Named, John S., one of your former clients, will be seeking services from a trustworthy mom-and-pop establishment this year where he can receive personal assistance instead of dealing with your impersonal and frustrating processes. Your conduct reflects a lack of integrity, and I will not hesitate to inform others about the dishonest way you conduct business.

I am concerned about the unexpected extra charges my daughter faced at the office. She went in for a $59 service but was surprised to find nearly $[redacted] in total fees. To add to that, they charged her more to delay paying those fees. The office manager left a disrespectful voicemail advising my daughter to handle the situation as an adult and not involve me. If my daughter had mentioned any issues during her visit, maybe they could have resolved it on the spot. However, the unprofessional manner in which they handled the situation after the fact is disappointing. I hope for a call to discuss and address this matter promptly.

Hello, my name is Joe V. I visited the Albuquerque location at the Alameda Westside Shopping Center where I met with Deborah K. to prepare my taxes. Unfortunately, I experienced a very unprofessional and rude service from her. Despite having numerous deductions, Deborah seemed uninterested in assisting me at first. She eventually scheduled an appointment for me to come back and requested additional documentation which I promptly sent via email. However, upon my return for the appointment, she was a no-show, leaving three of us waiting. Fortunately, Karen S. stepped in to help, but there seemed to be confusion between her and Deborah regarding my taxes. Karen expressed frustration, claiming that Deborah had made mistakes and should not have promised anything. Despite being told I would receive a call, it has been two days and I have not heard back. I attempted to contact the district manager, Patricia G., but received no response. Customer service was also unhelpful, stating they could not assist me. I am concerned about the professionalism at this office and would appreciate swift contact to ensure my taxes are done correctly to avoid penalties. Thank you for your attention.

Hello, my name is Joe Valdez. I visited your Albuquerque location at the Alameda Westside Shopping Center for tax preparation with Deborah King. Unfortunately, I had a negative experience. Deborah was unprofessional and seemed reluctant to assist me due to my significant deductions. Despite her initial assurance, she failed to follow up on the required documentation I emailed. During my scheduled appointment, she was a no-show, leaving three of us waiting. Another employee named Karen Shinault tried to help, but there was confusion and inconsistency between Deborah and Karen regarding my taxes. Karen seemed frustrated at the errors in Deborah's work. I attempted to contact the district manager, Patricia Garcia, with no response. H&R Block customer service was unable to assist me promptly. I find the office's lack of professionalism and mismanagement concerning. Please reach out to me to ensure my taxes are accurately handled. Thank you.

I'm reaching out for assistance with my boyfriend's tax situation. On January 28th, he filed his taxes despite facing legal issues. After completing the process and receiving confirmation, his lawyer advised him to authorize me to discuss his taxes with the IRS by completing Form [redacted]. However, upon contacting the IRS today, I was informed that the form mentioned was not accepted.
He is expecting a refund of over $1,[redacted], which is crucial to help cover overdue rent expenses. Unfortunately, he is currently detained at Clinton County Jail in St. Johns, MI, facing serious legal consequences. I have access to his necessary tax information such as his birthday, social security number, filing status, HRBlock credentials, and the deposit details. He arranged for the refund to be directed into my account as he doesn't have his own means currently.

I visited your Cobleskill, NY office on February 21, [redacted], where I have been a longtime customer. Despite the young lady being nice, she seemed inexperienced in preparing my return. She had to ask another representative for help, who also couldn't assist. This made me doubt if my taxes would be done correctly. They mentioned having someone else review my return on Monday. My tax situation is mostly the same as last year, except for a fund withdrawal. I am worried that two staff members couldn't handle my return. Last year, I paid $[redacted] for the service, but this year the quote was $[redacted]. Thank you.

I utilized your online tax filing service for my federal and Alabama state [redacted] returns. Regrettably, there were discrepancies in the state return. Initially, my Tennessee pension was mistakenly included with my [redacted](k) distributions, causing an erroneous increase in my tax obligation. Unfortunately, when I filed an amended return through your platform to rectify this, it resulted in my pension being duplicated, doubling my tax responsibility. Despite sending a payment to cover the increase, I later discovered that Tennessee pensions are not taxable in Alabama. Additionally, the option to itemize deductions was more advantageous than the standard deduction, which was automatically selected on your site.
Ultimately, due to these errors, I ended up overpaying Alabama by $[redacted] using your service. Subsequently, after running the same return through TurboTax, I found the correct deductions and owed only $[redacted] to Alabama. I have since submitted an amended state return with TurboTax.
Given the discrepancies and increased tax liability caused by your platform, I believe a refund of the fees for my state return is warranted. I look forward to your prompt assistance in resolving this matter.
Regards,
R. L. Bell
