I have been a customer of your tax services for many years. However, this tax season, I am extremely disappointed with the level of service provided. Despite filing my taxes a month ago, I have not received any updates on my return. To make matters worse, I was charged an unexpected $35.00 late fee on the refund advance. This additional cost is burdensome for me as I rely on this money for essential expenses. Not to mention, the over $[redacted] fee for filing my taxes feels excessive, especially as a long-time client. I feel like your company is taking advantage of customers like myself. I kindly request a refund, particularly for the late fee, as I believe it is unfair given the circumstances. After this experience, I regret to say I will not be returning next year. I expected a more reasonable fee structure for loyal customers like myself. Thank you for addressing my concerns.

I have been using your online tax return service for years without any issues. This year, however, I found the new options confusing. I ended up requesting a review with a tax professional because I couldn't figure out how to print my taxes and add documents myself. This resulted in me paying more than I ever have for using your online system. Despite reaching out to the tax pro to request my taxes be returned online for printing, I was informed it might not be possible. After a week of back-and-forth emails with the tax pro, I am unsure if my review has even begun. I initially just wanted to handle my taxes online, print them, add my documents, and file promptly, but now I feel lost and frustrated. I am uncertain if my state taxes will be included in this process. The changes to your site have made it too confusing for me, and I am leaning towards not using it again in the future. While I have been satisfied in the past, this year has been a letdown. The process used to be simple for me, but this time around, everything seems unnecessarily complicated.

I previously had a bank account in Luxembourg when I lived there before moving to the US. Recently, I obtained my social security number and was able to join my husband's American bank account. I am contemplating transferring my personal savings from Luxembourg to our joint account, especially with tax season approaching. I would like to clarify the tax implications of this transfer in the US, considering these funds are from my pre-US residency savings and not business income. We used H&R Block last year for taxes and plan to do so again. I want to ensure I follow US tax laws correctly, as I already paid taxes on this money to the Luxembourg government before moving. Any guidance on how to handle this transfer appropriately would be greatly appreciated.

I used HR Block after receiving a W2 mailer offering a refund advance loan and a $20 coupon for tax prep with a key code. I followed the instructions, started a free return, declined all add-ons, then was forced to upgrade due to alleged penalties which turned out to be nonexistent. Unable to downgrade, I restarted the free option only to be prompted for payment at the end. Despite trying to apply the key code, there was no option provided during payment. I feel deceived into purchasing a product I didn't want or need, as I never had the chance to use the key code. I'm requesting the free services I qualify for and for the key code to be used toward any remaining fees, as advertised on your site.

While using the PC tax software, I encountered an issue and attempted to seek assistance from a live representative. Unfortunately, I was unable to connect with a real person despite multiple attempts. Surprisingly, I noticed that I was charged $21.01 on eight separate occasions for not being able to reach a live agent and receive the necessary help. It is disheartening that I was not informed upfront about these charges, as I had already paid for the program assuming it included adequate support.
Furthermore, my wait time on hold lasted approximately 27 minutes, although the wait time indicator consistently showed only 2 minutes every time I refreshed the page. I believe that a credit for these unexpected charges is reasonable since I was unaware that each contact attempt incurred a charge, and there was a lack of prior notification about this.

I have used TurboTax for many years without any issues. This year, I decided to try H&R Block, and now I regret that choice. I am receiving less in taxes back due to recent tax changes. Additionally, even though I was supposed to have our state taxes filed electronically and provided my checking information, now it says we are not getting a refund and need to print and mail our state taxes. Despite receiving a text confirming our state return was accepted. I paid $99 for our federal taxes, which only left us with $49. I also paid for our state taxes to be done. This inconsistency needs to be resolved, as I should be receiving more than $49. When we filed, our state return cost $[redacted], while the federal was $[redacted], so it is unclear why the state refund is now showing as 0. The paperwork indicates an overpayment but states a refund of 0.

I filed my taxes and paid for the additional tax professional help. It was submitted and accepted on January 31, [redacted]. I messaged the help center about the injured spouse form to prevent all the refund from going towards my husband's back child support. Last year, I claimed my daughter with no issues, but this year I want to claim my son from a previous marriage. I am disappointed that the refund was offset to his debt. Despite sending two more messages, I did not receive a response. I need assistance in resolving this matter and e-filing the form [redacted]. Last year, my H&R Block tax professional handled it, and I simply signed it. Please assist me.

I have successfully e-filed my federal form, but I encountered an issue with the state form instructions provided by your platform. The instructions request the attachment of Schedule 1 from the Federal [redacted], which your software did not generate. Unfortunately, I am unable to chat with a live agent online. The telephone hold times are excessively long, as I've been waiting for 30 minutes, with no updates on the expected wait time. How can I effectively communicate with a representative to resolve this matter promptly?

I recently got a refund from WI on my emerald card. My MN refund was supposed to be transferred on Feb. 20th. After waiting 5 days, I contacted the emerald card number to check on my refund. The woman who answered was extremely rude and explained that my MN refund was applied to my refund advance balance and fees. I was under the impression that I would receive both state returns and the balance would be deducted from my federal refund. There was no indication on the myblock website that I wouldn't get the state return. I've been a customer for over 5 years, but this experience has left me disappointed, and I've decided not to use H&R Block again. I plan to file a formal complaint with the BBB regarding this deceptive practice.

I am extremely dissatisfied and feel exploited. I am displeased with the fees HR Block intends to deduct from my refund. I chose to file with them solely because I was informed multiple times and received documentation stating I was pre-approved for the refund advance. Not once was I advised that I would have to wait for the processing to be completed before being informed that the advance was denied. I am truly disappointed with the manager's behavior in Ontario, Oregon during our phone conversation when I requested clarification. In my opinion, HR Block takes advantage of individuals by increasing fees and deceiving them about the advance. I would like a refund of my fees and do not even want to deal with the Emerald card.

I recently went to the H&R Block office on Kadena Air Base in Japan to file our joint taxes with my husband. We provided our LES documents, but upon reviewing the papers, I noticed they were from [redacted] instead of [redacted]. The numbers were the same as last year's return, and when I questioned the employee, she assured me it was fine, despite the language barrier. It wasn't until later that I was informed the IRS wouldn't accept the tax return due to this error. I had to go back to the office, sign amendment paperwork, and pay the fees upfront to get it corrected. I was then asked to send the paperwork to the IRS myself. I believe the mistake could have been avoided if it was caught earlier by your staff. I am requesting a full refund for the inconvenience. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

During my recent tax filing appointment in Rockland, Maine, I encountered an issue with the service provided. The tax preparer processed my forms without inquiring about important details such as my alimony and non-cash donations. I had to prompt him to include these, leading to a higher total cost of $[redacted]. The breakdown of charges for each form filled out, including one with minimal work for $[redacted], left me dissatisfied. I believe a partial refund for the excessive fee is warranted given the lack of thoroughness in the preparation process.

When my husband and I went to the H&R Block on Kadena Air Base in Japan to file our joint taxes, we provided our LES. Surprisingly, both of our LES documents were from **** instead of ****, which seemed to be a repeat of last year's information. I pointed this out to the tax preparer, who assured me it was fine despite the repeat data. Due to a language barrier, she needed help multiple times from another staff member. After the paperwork was processed, I received a call informing me that the IRS rejected our tax return and I needed to return to the office to sign amendment paperwork. When I arrived, I was asked to pay the H&R Block fees upfront for the amendment. If the IRS adjusted and deducted the fees later, I was promised a refund. I was instructed to send the amendment paperwork to the IRS via FedEx. Despite all this, I had to pay the full amount and now seek a full refund for the error that could have been resolved earlier. I believe the staff should have caught this mistake from the start. Thank you for addressing this issue.

I have been a user of H&R Block Deluxe for many years. I am requesting a refund for the [redacted] Deluxe package due to compatibility issues with Apex Clearing documents. I recently received an email from Apex Clearing indicating that their documents are not compatible with H&R Block's software, although they work with TurboTax, Tax Act, and Tax Cut. I appreciate your attention to this matter.
Thank you,
Mr. Gledhill

I need H&R Block to confirm the card was sent and possibly provide a replacement as my tax refund is due soon.

I had scheduled an appointment for this morning at your 23 East Madison Chicago, IL office for 8:30 a.m. I arrived, but the "tax advisor" was running late and couldn't make it until 9 a.m. After this inconvenience, I decided to reschedule closer to my home in Oak Park, IL for 7 p.m. When I arrived at your Elmwood Park, IL location, I was informed they were overbooked and couldn't see me until at least 7:30 p.m. I am disappointed with the customer service I have received. I have been a loyal H&R Block customer for 2 years in Kansas City and had a great experience there. What is happening with the H&R Block locations in Chicago? Should I consider finding another tax service provider?

The automated system is highly frustrating. Despite verifying my location multiple times, it mistakenly connected me to the wrong place on four occasions. To add to the inconvenience, it claimed it couldn't authenticate my account, forcing me to restart the entire process by calling back. Surprisingly, I speak with an American accent akin to the system's voice, making the errors even more baffling. Regrettably, this has consumed a significant amount of my time, preventing me from addressing the tax return issues I urgently needed to discuss with the appropriate individual.
I have decided to discontinue using H&R Block and kindly request a full refund given the circumstances. Moving forward, it might benefit other customers to have an option to bypass the automated system, perhaps simply by stating "representative" at any point.

I have contacted customer service multiple times regarding my account @Wedad11. The automated system keeps defaulting to a different user name, Wedadak, which is causing issues with accessing my completed [redacted] tax filing and direct deposit information. Despite assistance from two representatives, the system continues to revert to the incorrect user name. I need help resolving this so I can submit my efile that I have paid for. Please update the system to recognize @Wedad11 and remove Wedadak from my account. Thank you, Wedad Al Akkad.
