I have encountered a technical issue with the Michigan state tax filing software while working on the MI-1040D form for [redacted] Michigan Adjustments of Capital Gains and Losses. Despite entering the correct data in column E for all 4 line items, the information disappears as I progress through the state filing process, leading to an inaccurate taxable income amount on my return. Even after re-entering the data, some fields in column E continue to be blank upon returning to the page. This results in my information not being saved or included in the calculations. I would appreciate guidance on how to resolve this issue as it is affecting the accuracy of my state return. Thank you for your assistance.

I am facing an issue with the H&R Block software download for Michigan. Despite having the correct date of birth, it fails to provide me with the deduction on form [redacted] automatically. When I manually input the deduction, the program blocks me from e-filing, assuming an error. It seems my only recourse is to mail my return. The problem lies in the downloaded Deluxe H&R Block software not recognizing our eligibility for the deduction, which has been verified by the State of Michigan. As per the MI [redacted] instruction booklet, we should qualify for a $40,[redacted] deduction in section C based on the older spouse's birthdate of 6-5-52. Even the software's "Help Central" confirms our eligibility according to birthdate. This deduction was automatically applied in previous years but not this time.

I recently had my wallet stolen, with my bank card inside. After visiting the bank, I discovered my checking account is closed due to hits on my credit report, but my savings account remains active. I indicated my checking account for my tax refund, but the account numbers are the same. I received an email today about my taxes being processed. Will this impact my refund? Will they send a paper check instead? I urgently need the funds for my land taxes to avoid risking my home. I appreciate any assistance. Thank you.

I am looking to schedule an appointment at your Truckee, CA office but need to organize my finances first. I have not filed taxes since [redacted] due to living abroad and doing work exchanges in Hawaii. I only received a W-2 in [redacted]. The IRS site can't retrieve returns from [redacted]. My [redacted] income was minimal, possibly below the poverty level. How can I start the process? Do I need to obtain my [redacted] returns? I want to ensure I handle this correctly, although my current income is still low. What documents are required? Thank you.

I spent 90 minutes at H&R Block where a tax preparer named Faysal handled my taxes. Initially, he needed to confirm my employment with a previous company, which was done over the phone. However, when it came time to process my rebate, there was an issue with my T4 form not being available online due to not working at the company the previous year. This is confusing as I had no problems when I worked briefly at RMC last year. Additionally, Faysal had body odor and made an inappropriate comment about my marital status during the appointment. Despite good experiences previously, this visit was disappointing, and now I am unsure how to resolve this situation as it seems there was an error in handling my taxes.

I purchased the H&R Block [redacted] Mac Deluxe Federal + State for my laptop. When I tried to activate the software with the provided code, it did not work. Additionally, I encountered issues when trying to save a return. I have already reinstalled the program, but the problem persists. How can I successfully save my return file?

I wanted to express my dissatisfaction with my recent tax preparation experience at your Towers Mall office in Roanoke, VA on 2/19/19. My tax filing was rejected by the IRS due to discrepancies with my ex-spouse's filing status, which required me to mail in my taxes instead of e-filing. I later received a request for the original W-2 forms, resulting in multiple trips to your office. Despite assurances, I was asked to return yet again to sign my tax forms, causing frustration. I relied on a quick refund but now face a 6-week delay. While I understand Block is not responsible for my ex's actions, I am upset about the lack of communication and extra trips required due to the filing issues. I am requesting a refund of my preparation fees for this year due to the subpar service, as I have been a long-time customer of HRB with no prior issues.

I completed my taxes online through My Block. Upon discovering that my refund was less than what I owed for my Emerald Advance, I contacted H&R Block to explain the situation. They directed me to customer service for the Emerald Card. As a long-time customer with a good repayment record, I was promised assistance. We agreed on a monthly payment plan of $[redacted]. They were supposed to deduct the first payment from my refund, leaving me with $[redacted]. Then, starting on March 15th, they were to deduct $[redacted] from my Green Dot payroll card each month for 8 months, with the final payment being $60. Despite this agreement, my full refund was sent to them. I have been a loyal customer for about 30 years and trusted that our agreement would be upheld. This unexpected change has caused me significant difficulties. I have recommended your services to 68 people over the years, but never received the promised bonus. I kindly request your help in resolving this situation and ensuring that I receive the agreed-upon amount.

I recently used H&R Block for the first time in a decade. The experience was disappointing. The tax preparer seemed inexperienced, did not explain pricing upfront, and struggled with my documents. After a quick and inefficient process, he informed me of a low refund and then revealed a steep fee of $[redacted]. Feeling dissatisfied with the service and transparency, I am unlikely to return to H&R Block. This encounter has prompted me to consider doing my taxes independently or seeking alternatives.

Hello,
I am struggling to file my [redacted] tax return using your free online service.
Last year, I completed my taxes manually and reported dollar amounts precisely to the cent.
Currently, when trying to file, the system asks for my adjusted gross income from my [redacted] return. The instructions advise entering it EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS on the [redacted] return. I input the number with cents as directed, but upon proceeding, the system automatically rounds it, causing a discrepancy with the IRS upon submission.
I reside and work in states with income tax, so until the Federal return is accepted, my state returns remain pending.
I lack an IRS PIN from last year for AGI verification.
I have two inquiries:
1. If the IRS demands an exact AGI match for e-filing, why does the software round the figure instead of allowing entry EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS?
2. How can I resolve this problem and successfully e-file my return? I prefer not to resort to mailing it, as I anticipate needing the refunds sooner rather than later.
Thank you.

I have used the H&R Block tax software from [redacted] to [redacted], previously known as Tax Cut until [redacted]. The process has been straightforward until this year. I have spent the last two days trying to download and install the Federal Deluxe version from a disk and the HR Block website without success, despite lengthy waits for telephone support. Although my computer has the [redacted] and [redacted] software installed, H&R Block did not recognize me as a prior user. I believe there may be issues with the [redacted] software and am unsure how to proceed.

On February 13th, an unauthorized transaction of $[redacted].00 was deducted from my account. Despite reporting it, there has been no resolution. Each time I call, I am told different things, causing stress as I care for my sick wife and daughter. I am worried about my state taxes being affected. The situation involves Enterprise taking my money without permission and not refunding my deposit. I urge for a swift resolution as I am in need of the funds. I am also disappointed in the service provided after paying over $[redacted].00 to H&R BLOCK for assistance with my taxes. I have fraud insurance and hope for a positive outcome, receiving my $[redacted].00 back promptly and clarification on the ongoing investigation. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

As a new customer at H&R Block in Lapeer, Michigan, I had my tax return prepared by a gentleman at the Lapeer office. Unfortunately, the money I received from social security was not included on my state tax return, significantly reducing my refund. After seeking assistance from the Michigan treasury department, I contacted the Lapeer office for a resolution. They assured me that they would rectify the error and potentially refund some fees. Despite receiving my federal refund on February 22, there seems to be a delay with the office’s portion. I reached out to customer service and the local office for updates, but have faced conflicting information and unfulfilled promises for a callback from the manager. The lack of transparency and follow-through has left me feeling dissatisfied and skeptical about using H&R Block in the future, and I intend to share my experience with friends and family to caution them against relying on H&R Block’s services.

In September [redacted], I received a letter from the IRS stating my [redacted] taxes were under audit. I contacted the H&R Block office that prepared my return, but the tax preparer was unavailable. I then reached out to a local office for assistance with the audit. After ongoing communication with the IRS, I received a letter in February [redacted], prompting me to contact the Baltimore office. I discovered my original tax preparer no longer worked there and was referred to Manager Susan Ryan at the Glen Burnie office. Despite faxing my documents on 2/25 and multiple follow-up calls, I did not receive a response from Susan. Feeling frustrated and seeking resolution, I visited my local office for assistance. My attempts to reach Susan continued to be unfruitful, and I am dissatisfied with the lack of support and professionalism. I am requesting reimbursement for the tax preparation fees from [redacted] and the Peace of Mind service. I also wish to obtain the contact information for the district manager in the Baltimore area to address these issues.

I am disappointed with the service received this tax year from your company. After being a loyal customer for 6-7 years, this will be my final year filing with you. On January 21, [redacted], I filed my taxes in Fort Worth with Andrea Talimini at 6405B N Beach Street, Fort Worth, Texas, [redacted]. When I contacted the IRS on Monday, February 25, [redacted], I discovered that my reported income from my employer did not match what was filed by $4,[redacted] due to missing allocated tips as a server. Andrea's supervisor, Stephanie, claimed my allocated tips were an estimate and requested proof. Only after visiting a Shreveport office, Mrs. Gayle discovered a missing [redacted] form causing the $4,[redacted] discrepancy. As a single parent of two in nursing school, I now face a delay of 2+ months for my return. This situation has added unnecessary stress, and I am extremely frustrated by this error.

I created an account with Expat a few weeks ago but I forgot my username and password. I attempted to log in with two different login combinations to no avail. After clicking on "Forgot my password," I entered my email and security answers to receive a reset email from Expat tax. The email instructed me to reset my password by clicking a link, which unfortunately did not work. I'm hoping for a simpler solution, like receiving a temporary code. My tax returns have been handled by HR&BLOCK since [redacted], where I have an existing account to access my documents. I'm concerned that opening an account with Expat will affect my HR&BLOCK account. Can you clarify if I can maintain both accounts without any issues? Thank you.

Hello,
I recently bought the [redacted] Premium + State version of your product online for download. Unfortunately, when I tried to download it, the link was not working. I received an email with a download link that expired on April 3rd, but every time I clicked on it, I got a [redacted] - Error (Not Found) message. A Customer Service Representative sent me another link, but I had the same issue. I was promised a call back within 2 hours, but no one has contacted me yet. I urgently need to resolve this problem as I am in the middle of tax season. If I don't receive a working download link, I will need a physical CD in the next 48 hours, otherwise, I’ll have to purchase the software locally.
Thank you,
V. Richardson

My son just called from North Carolina and mentioned that he had his taxes prepared by your company today, and he was charged $[redacted]. He recently completed his service in the US Marine Corps after 8 years, and he is 26 years old with a 2-year-old son and a wife. This fee surprised us all. My husband and I, retired professionals who also require professional tax services, had our taxes done for a much lower cost. Despite renting a home and having 2 cars, the amount seems excessive. My son mentioned that he was only informed of the fee at the end of the process. Your advertisements present a different image, so it is disappointing to hear of this situation. It is disheartening to think that you may be taking advantage of someone who has served the country. This is the only reason I can fathom. I have already shared our experience with others, and they are equally disturbed. Please provide some clarification on this matter.

I am disappointed with the way the fees were handled this tax season. Originally, I was informed that all fees would be deducted from my Federal return, not from the advance. However, most fees were deducted from the advance, and I later discovered an outstanding balance of over $[redacted] left on my advance. Despite paying off the advance today, the charge for it is still showing up on my card statement. This inconsistency has left me feeling deceived and frustrated. After being a loyal customer for 19 years, this may be my last year using H&R Block's services. The misinformation and lack of follow-through have made this tax season quite disappointing for me.
