My North Carolina state refund was accepted at the end of January. However, the refund system still shows it's in stage 1 processing and requests to wait 15 days. It has remained in Stage 1 since the beginning to mid-February. I contacted the Department of Revenue last week but they could not provide an explanation. The representative mentioned they would have asked for information if needed and couldn't see a reason for the delay. If there's no update within a week, I was advised to call back. I followed up as instructed but received a similar response. Unfortunately, I have not received any information on why my North Carolina state refund is delayed. Any assistance on this matter would be helpful.

It has been a challenge trying to communicate with the H&R Block manager at Rothman Building in Marlton, New Jersey. After having my taxes prepared by Michael Stark at the end of January for $[redacted], I was taken aback by the high fee as a full-time student with simple tax filings. Despite Michael offering a $25 discount, it still felt excessive. Following advice from a tax advisor that the cost was unreasonable, my mom and I met with Michael on March 29th to address this issue. He initiated a refund claim for me but it seems I will need to persist to secure it. Despite calling regularly since March 29th and being promised another claim submission, I have yet to receive my refund.

I am extremely disappointed with the experience I have had with this company. When my husband went on Disability, I decided to seek professional help with filing my income taxes and chose H & R Block based on their advertised guarantees. However, my visit to the local office, where Stacie Baier helped us with our [redacted] taxes, turned out to be a mistake. We later found out we owed the IRS over $2,[redacted] due to an error on our taxes. Stacie initially took responsibility for the mistake and assured us it would be covered by the "Peace of Mind" protection we had purchased. However, after weeks of unreturned calls and emails, our claim was denied. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, including a visit to the office, the situation remains unresolved. This lack of accountability and communication from H & R Block is frustrating, and I am considering seeking further action to address this issue.

I recently received a letter from the IRS requesting documents. I have the necessary paperwork, but it's quite complicated. There was an issue with my health insurance coverage from the Healthcare Marketplace for the first two months of [redacted]. However, I began a new job on Dec. 29, [redacted], and had coverage through my employer for all of [redacted]. I didn't apply for additional coverage in [redacted] due to being hired well in advance. I possess Form 1095A displaying incorrect charges for January and February [redacted], along with Form 1095B and 1095C indicating full coverage from Hilton Worldwide for the entire year. I need assistance with Form [redacted] to address these discrepancies. I'm currently stuck on Form [redacted], specifically line 11, and could use some advice on how to proceed. Any guidance you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your prompt help. Best regards, S. Massey

Hello, I am Montana. I have filed an Amended Return for the [redacted] tax year, resulting in a larger refund from both Federal and State. My Amended Return was received on 2-25-[redacted], adjusted on 3-29-[redacted], and completed on 4-19-[redacted]. I received a letter stating I would receive a refund and got a check for the different Federal amount, but nothing from the State yet. I have tried contacting the IRS online and by phone, but haven't been able to speak with anyone. I know Amended Returns can take up to 16 weeks, but I'm puzzled why NYS is taking longer than the Federal refund. I would appreciate any insights as this is my first time amending a return. Thank you! Montana

The following incident occurred around October 9th or 10th, [redacted], near the Belcrest shopping mall in Hyattsville, MD. After leaving CVS, a stranger approached my car with a wallet found nearby. He claimed to work at H&R Block, and with another individual, suggested we wait to claim the supposed lost wallet's contents later that day. The individual took a valuable item from me to "secure" it in their office safe, mentioning a Mr. Goldberg. Upon my return to the office, no familiar faces were present, the lockbox remained on the door for months, and my attempts to contact the Greenbelt Office were fruitless. This incident has left me feeling unsettled, as it seems the stranger may have deceived us, keeping the found money and my bracelet. The man described as a slender, well-dressed African American around 5ft. 6in., may have fabricated the name Mr. Goldberg. I hope someone can identify him and shed light on this situation.

I have contacted customer service twice regarding my missing W2 form, which I dropped off in April [redacted] for my taxes. After being informed that the person handling my taxes had left, I was told to start over with a new W2 form. I am frustrated by the lack of progress on this matter and the confusion between the office and customer service. I urge for a swift resolution to this issue. - Mary B. T.

I submitted my Vermont state taxes and recently received a letter stating that none of the forms I sent were accepted. I contacted Vermont's tax office, and they confirmed that the forms were not acceptable. I've been waiting for months for this refund, which my family really needs right now. I revisited the office to resolve the issue, but they were unsure how to proceed since the software used the forms provided. Being a full-time student, father of one-year-old twins, husband, and part-time employee, I don't have the time for multiple trips to fix this. I'm frustrated with the situation and require a prompt resolution or a refund for the services I paid for but haven't received. If this isn't rectified, I'll need to seek services elsewhere. Thank you.

I recently received an email from my H&R Block accountant regarding my tax return deductions for this year. I am unsure about her advice and would like a second opinion from another accountant or someone in corporate. She mentioned that I cannot deduct my car registration or private health insurance expenses for the [redacted] tax year. Can someone clarify this information for me? I appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thank you. Email excerpt: Apologies for the delay in responding. I did include the deductions for you. However, if your deductions are less than $12,[redacted], you typically take the standard deduction instead of itemizing. I can usually itemize on the state return since the standard amount for the state is $4,[redacted], but unfortunately, you did not have enough deductions to itemize at the state level either. Feel free to contact corporate if you need further clarification on this matter.

I recently had my taxes done at your Moscow, Idaho office on April 14th. Unfortunately, I had concerns about the accuracy of the calculations done by the tax preparer. I felt that certain aspects, such as deductions for my home-based office expenses, cell phone, and internet, were not accurately calculated. After realizing there might be a mistake that could cost me between $[redacted]-$[redacted], I tried to reach out to the office multiple times, but had trouble connecting due to my busy work schedule. When I finally spoke to a lady named A, she was quite rude and dismissive, not acknowledging the mistake made by your office. Despite my request for a refund and to have my taxes redone by someone else, she insisted on rectifying the error and promised to follow up the next Monday. However, I never received any further communication. My dissatisfaction has led me to consider filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I paid $[redacted] for this service and the lack of professionalism shown towards my concerns is unacceptable. Thank you for your attention.

I have been attempting to file my [redacted] taxes using H&R Block Premium + State software. Due to an error in my adjusted gross income, the return was rejected twice. Today, I reattempted to file, but after clicking "Send," the progress bar disappeared, leaving me on the same screen with no confirmation. Despite the payment for state filing fees showing up twice on my credit card statement, the status check says my return hasn't been filed. I'm concerned about potential double charges and the uncertainty of whether my returns were sent at all. I set up payments for both state and federal taxes to be deducted from my checking account, and I don't want them to be processed twice. I need help to resolve this issue.

I struggled to find a reliable tax consultant and ended up filing my taxes with Frank Chin on Apr 6. Unfortunately, they were filed incorrectly. Jennifer confirmed the mistake and advised me to wait for the IRS response. Upon receiving my full refund, I scheduled another appointment with Jennifer online, only to discover she was on leave. To rectify the error, I worked with Anju Jain to file an amendment, which required me to mail it myself. Despite the $65 fee, I encountered inconveniences and now wonder who is liable for the delayed interest and mail charges.

I need assistance regarding a visit to your Napa office with my daughter to file an amended return. The person she dealt with, "Cookie," was disrespectful and made the experience very unpleasant. Despite my daughter only having a copy of her W-2, Cookie was unhelpful, accusing her of lying, making her cry, and rudely commenting on her personal life. Although Cookie ultimately assisted, she did so grudgingly while charging $[redacted], stating it was a one-time favor. The situation was handled poorly, and no one deserves such treatment at any business establishment. I seek clarification on this matter.

Contacting customer support from Thailand can be difficult and costly. I am reaching out concerning an issue with my HR Block Deluxe with State software for the [redacted] tax year. I attempted to e-file my Federal and CA State taxes simultaneously using a VPN for security. Although my VPN connection is domestic, the e-filing process failed three times with a charge of $19.95 per attempt on my credit card. The progress window disappeared after 45 seconds, and checking the e-file status shows it was not completed. I would appreciate guidance on reversing these charges and advice on successfully completing the e-filing process.

I recently submitted my Virginia state taxes at your Williamsburg location on [redacted] John Tyler Hwy, Williamsburg, VA [redacted]. The Virginia state tax office notified me that the agent who handled my state taxes made an error, requiring me to file an amended return. This mistake has caused significant financial strain for my family, especially since I recently left the military and am seeking employment. I am deeply disappointed by this oversight, which could have been prevented by the "professionals" employed by your company. The employee responsible for this error is Nathalie Bolton, working at the aforementioned office. I am seeking guidance on rectifying this situation and am inquiring whether the process of amending my return through your company will be complimentary this time, considering the repercussions I am facing due to this error. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Paul R. [redacted] Middle St apt#[redacted] Williamsburg, VA [redacted]

My wife received a [redacted]-MISC this year with federal taxes withheld for the NY State's paid family leave program. The federal taxes were withheld by the insurance company and her employer. However, in the HR Tax Block premium software, we couldn't enter the federal taxes withheld on the [redacted]-MISC form. Consequently, our electronic return was inaccurate, and we had to file an amended return to rectify the missing federal taxes withheld. It would greatly improve the [redacted] software if there was a feature to input withholding on the [redacted]-MISC form. Next year, she will receive another [redacted]-MISC with withholdings for paid-family leave that extended into [redacted]. If this issue is not addressed, we may have to switch to a competitor for handling our taxes, which is not our preference. We are loyal users of HR Block tax premium software and hope this can be addressed. Thank you.

In [redacted], I filed my taxes with a tax consultant located in Echo Park, Los Angeles, CA. Unfortunately, I have been unable to reach the office directly as it is currently closed with no indication of reopening soon. Throughout [redacted], I made estimated payments due to my freelance work. Moreover, I arranged a monthly payment plan for my outstanding [redacted] taxes to be debited from my checking account regularly. While I expected this deduction to last 12 months starting in April, it has continued into [redacted], with deductions occurring in April and May as well. My understanding was that the payments would cease by March [redacted], completing the 12-month period. I am looking for assistance to clarify why $1,[redacted].00 is still being deducted beyond the expected timeframe. Thank you for your help. -E.C.

HR Block made an error on my [redacted] Minnesota state tax return, leading me to pay the outstanding amount of $1,[redacted] in January [redacted]. Despite providing all documentation to my tax preparer and notifying HR Block of the payment, resolving the issue has been a lengthy process. I was promised assistance through the "Peace of Mind" coverage, yet after five months, the claim has been transferred multiple times between different HR Block offices. Presently, it is with Michelle Nerud at the Northtown Mall H&R Block Office in Blaine, MN ([redacted]), and I have not received an update in three weeks. The delay in addressing this matter and honoring the "Peace of Mind" coverage is frustrating, and I urge HR Block to take action promptly or return my file for further steps, potentially legal action. -Norman S.

I went to H&R Block for in-store tax filing. I am still waiting for my refund which was supposed to be directly deposited into my Bank of America account according to the IRS. After checking the status online, it seems there might be an issue with the routing number provided on my tax return. My bank informed me that the routing number I provided is not valid for tax refunds as it is for wire transfers. I am unsure what to do next, as my bank has no record of the transaction. Can someone provide guidance on how to correct this issue? Thank you.

I had my [redacted] taxes filed with H&R Block, not in [redacted]. There were mistakes on the papers, but they still processed my taxes. I'm having trouble with the Canada Revenue Agency since May [redacted]. I'm frustrated that they let me file incorrect taxes. I need to go to a different tax place to get advice on how to fix this. They quickly noticed the issue when I showed them my files. I paid over $[redacted] for their service, but now I'm considering asking for a refund. I've been a loyal customer for years but will not use H&R Block again.
