I utilized HR Block's free online tax filing service last Sunday but couldn't complete it due to not having a copy of my [redacted] return. Working for the US Peace Corps in Mexico, I switched to the IRS site but needed to FedEx my Federal and State forms to the States. I was erroneously charged $29.99 by Block for electronically filing my Vermont taxes though it wasn't finalized. I have been a client of FMS Hawaii Inc. for 13 years. Initially, they claimed to be affiliated with H&R Block, and even their communications like messages and letters mention H&R Block. It was only recently that I realized they are only "associated" with H&R Block. I have encountered tax issues and sought assistance from the H&R Block customer service line, where I was informed that FMS Hawaii Inc. has never been part of H&R Block. I am unsure how to proceed. Is there a way to verify a legitimate affiliation with H&R Block, like a sticker or certification? I used the H&R Block online program to file our taxes this year. It was the first time in years that we had to pay $[redacted]. I completed my tax filing on your website and reached the final step where I paid the tax preparation fee with my credit card. After I clicked on the green arrow confirming "done," it did not prompt me to re-enter my credit card information when paying the owed taxes to the IRS. I contacted your office and was informed that the system should have used the same card information provided for the tax preparation fee. However, it has been a week, and I only see the tax preparation fee charged on my credit card, not the taxes owed. I am unsure if the payment went through or if I need to make the payment again. The automated phone system keeps directing me in circles until stating the department is closed. As a long-time user, I am disappointed by the lack of response and am considering not using this service in the future if my concerns are not addressed.

This is the first time my wife and I have used H&R Block, and unfortunately, it will be the last. We filed our taxes separately this year. I originally filed on 4/13/19 and checked my bank account on 4/20/19 to find that my payment had not gone through. Upon logging back into my H&R Block account, I discovered that my return had been rejected due to a typo in my wife's last name. I did not receive any email or text notification from H&R Block regarding this issue. I resubmitted my return on 4/20/19, but now I am concerned about potential penalties from the IRS since it was accepted after the 4/15 deadline. I am disappointed that I paid for e-filing with H&R Block and even during a live chat, the agent was unable to provide me with a customer service number to speak with a representative. Despite working for H&R Block, the agent claimed not to have a contact number for the company. Instead, he offered the IRS [redacted] number, leaving me dissatisfied with the service provided. My wife and I will be switching back to TurboTax for their prompt notifications, updates, and better customer service.

Hello, I completed my [redacted] tax return with Donna Cooley, an H&R Block professional in Yakima, Washington. I e-signed while overseas. Donna notified me that my return was declined due to a previous year's code issue. She referred me to Paulette Smith, but I can't reach Paulette for an update. My H&R Block account states I declined my return, but I can't view more details or make changes. I believed I had accepted the return when I e-signed with Donna. Hello, I recently encountered an issue with my tax payment process that resulted in a double charge on my card. Despite being reassured of a refund for the duplicate charge, the refund has not been processed for two weeks now. The manager promised to resolve the situation promptly and even escalated the matter to bookkeeping, but so far, the issue remains unresolved. I have been patient and understanding throughout, but the delay in resolving this matter has been quite frustrating. I hope for a resolution soon to rectify the double charge and to finally have this matter put to rest. Thank you.

I attempted to file my taxes using HR Block's website. Due to needing to enter a Net Operating Loss (NOL), I had to pay extra for a "tax professional." Despite providing all necessary forms, pictures of relevant information, and a detailed page of information, the Tax professional I was assigned failed to properly assist me. She did not review the information I submitted thoroughly. Adding the NOL should have been a simple task to complete my return, but it was not addressed correctly. After paying $[redacted] for HR Block's online service, my state and federal tax returns are still incomplete. The service provided by Lynn S. was unhelpful and unprofessional. Additionally, the return she submitted had errors, including missing the NOL I needed to include.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Today, I visited the H&R Block location at [redacted] Douglas Street, Victoria BC for my tax appointment scheduled at 12 pm. I was there for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the tax preparer did not follow the checklist in the booklet and was unaware that I am a student. He had to seek help from others to review his work, as it was more complex than anticipated. Regrettably, he lacked adequate explanations during the process. Despite my status as a full-time student and CF Veteran with a CF Appreciation Card, I was charged $[redacted]. Concerned about the accuracy of my taxes after relying on H&R Block for over a decade, I am contemplating switching service providers due to the perceived uncertainty and incompetence displayed. Upon hiring a tax professional for $[redacted] to handle our taxes, the entire experience was disappointing. Instead of focusing on our tax concerns, the professional spent the time talking about herself. Later, we discovered a significant error in our taxes. Since then, we have made multiple unsuccessful attempts to schedule a follow-up appointment. Despite prior assurances, no one contacted us for the arranged consultation. Even after speaking with Laura, the manager, and expressing our dissatisfaction, the promised callback and appointment never materialized. Despite leaving multiple messages for Laura, there has been no response. This repetitive cycle of poor customer service has been exasperating. We request a full refund for the inadequate service and a prompt appointment to address the tax issue.

I need to update my direct deposit information for my tax refund or enroll in the Emerald Card. I submitted my taxes in January [redacted] and was expecting my refund by February 27, [redacted], with direct deposit to my bank account. I have a lengthy issue with receiving my refund on my Emerald Card after applying for a duplicate check service. I faxed the application on the 12th and sent it via certified mail, received and signed by your employee on the 15th, but I have not received any assistance. When I inquire, I am told the physical check has not been received, delaying my refund until after June. This is the second application due to an error by the tax professional with the account number. I have proof of submission through fax transmission and UPS tracking. I need guidance on who to submit these documents to or assistance with processing my refund promptly. My main goal is to receive my refund.

I want to share my experience today at the [redacted] Sherwood Dr. Sherwood Park, AB location. With the tax season ending soon, I recently returned to town and visited this site hoping to have my taxes handled. Upon arrival, the friendly young receptionist promptly greeted me and offered to find the next available tax professional. However, the older woman, possibly a manager, was loudly instructing the receptionist from the back. She seemed to be mismanaging the situation by assigning menial tasks like photocopying. It was evident that the younger receptionist's time could have been better utilized assisting walk-in customers, like myself. Overall, witnessing this poor management style led me and another individual to leave without seeking services.

I had a frustrating experience doing my taxes at H&R Block in Sheldon, Iowa this year. The tax preparer I dealt with was unhelpful and initially claimed I wouldn't receive a refund due to no income, even though I had $[redacted] in earnings as a single mom and full-time student with one child. In mid-December of [redacted], I tried to download the Deluxe software for that year. Despite spending nearly 10 hours attempting to do so between December 14th and 18th due to a promotional price offer, I was unsuccessful. I informed the technical support team that I wanted to cancel the order. However, the order was still charged to my credit card, totaling $37.92, and I have not received a credit for it yet. I have been a customer of H. & R. for the past four years and would like this amount refunded to my credit card.
