I own a 32" Samsung Model ON32N5300AFX2A. 1. I have wifi, but for regular TV, like CNN and the golf channel, the screen is squashed 3" on the top and bottom. This issue doesn't occur with Samsung TV or other wifi content. Is there a way to fix this? 2. Both regular TV shows and wifi networks have poor lighting, even after adjusting the brightness. Any advice? 3. I recently bought this TV and am thinking of exchanging it for a 40" model for better brightness to assist my wife, who has macular degeneration. Any recommendations? I'm including my email for replies: [redacted]

I suspect my laptop has been hacked. Two days ago, while using it, I heard a continuous alarm sound and a pop-up appeared claiming my computer was locked and to contact Microsoft tech support for assistance. It also advised against shutting down the laptop. This occurred a year ago, and at that time, I resolved it by using Task Manager to shut down the computer, which seemed to fix the issue. Now, when I tried the same approach, the alarm persists. What steps should I take next?

I am struggling with a disk space issue on my computer. I am unable to save documents or pictures, open emails, view pictures, or print anything. Random error messages keep popping up, such as "Web view run time failed," "Outlook could not create the work file," and "Check the temp environment variable." After seeking help from the Geek Squad at Best Buy in Woodland Park, NJ on Wednesday, 3/9/[redacted], some issues were resolved, but my printer still does not work, possibly due to the space problem. Despite deleting unnecessary files and purchasing a 1TB external hard drive, I am unable to set it up. Even after following all instructions, the problems persist. I am requesting a remote session with the Geek Squad to hopefully resolve these issues. Thank you.

I contacted Geek Squad on February 8, [redacted], seeking assistance with accessing my Microsoft Office and business email files on my computer. After speaking with an overseas or contract employee named Alexis, I was informed there would be a charge of $39.00 plus $3.94 tax, totaling $42.94, for the service. Despite not receiving a solution and bringing my computer to Best Buy in Baxter, Minnesota for a new hard drive installation, which resolved the issue, I have not been reimbursed for the initial charge. The Geek Squad order number for the transaction is BBY01-[redacted][redacted]. Kindly reach out to me via email to address this billing discrepancy. Dale Klungness: [redacted].

As a member, I required a screen replacement for my phone. I scheduled an appointment for last Tuesday at 12:40 pm at the St. Matthews branch of Best Buy. Despite being punctual, a staff member informed me that they do not repair phones unless they were purchased through Geek Squad. Recently, I noticed a Geek Squad ad online stating they service any phone regardless of where it was bought. I am unsure if this is false advertising or if my membership does not extend to fixing the screen on my Samsung A02s phone. I would appreciate clarification on this matter.

I recently received an email from Ellis, but the sender's email showed as [redacted] The email mentioned a transaction code #[redacted] and provided a customer valid ID 957A4EXJZWB04. I noticed a charge of $[redacted].88 for a one-year plan, which I usually have at $[redacted].00 annually. I am seeking assistance from Geek Squad to cancel my account, remove me from the program, and refund the upcoming year's coverage cost. I request no further automatic drafts and ask for a prompt refund of $[redacted].88 back to my credit card. My attempts to contact for resolution have been challenging. I encountered language barriers and delays in speaking with a live representative. Moreover, I came across warnings online about possible scams related to the same billing scenario I experienced. After trying to get assistance from [redacted] and their support center, I am unsure if this is a legitimate service. I hope to get this matter resolved promptly and appreciate any assistance. Thank you, Richard.

I received an email from someone claiming to be Geek Squad regarding an auto-renewal invoice. The email includes details such as the invoice date, number, ticket ID, item description, payment mode, and renewal amount. It also provides customer information for Pete P., including an email address and customer ID. There is a contact number for customer support and a reminder to cancel the renewal before July 06, [redacted], to avoid any recurring charges. The email emphasizes renewing the membership with Geek Squad and assures assistance whenever needed. It warns that replying to the email won't cancel the plan and provides a number for cancellation.

I am extremely frustrated with the Total Tech Support I purchased at a high price. I never had issues with downloading Geek Support until recently, and it is irritating that I have to visit the store for help. The remote downloads they send fail to load, even after several attempts to resend. Why is this happening?

Subject: Clarification on Geek Squad Membership Renewal I have a concern regarding my upcoming auto-debit for the Geek Squad membership. The renewal amount of $[redacted].99 seems excessive for just one year. Could you please clarify if this amount covers support for five years? If that's the case, I'd like to understand if additional payments will be required after the fifth year. Alternatively, if this payment is only for one year, I may need to cancel my membership due to the high cost. I appreciate your assistance in explaining this to me. Thank you, ZK

I have two laptops, an Acer and a Dell I bought from Northtown store a year ago. My files, including my iTunes Library, were transferred to the new laptop. When I visited the store on July 18th regarding my Acer, I mentioned an issue with the audio in my iTunes Library. The agent gave me a business card for consultant Ryan Blackwood. I would like to know if the recommendation to consult Ryan was due to his expertise in handling issues involving Windows system 32, or to avoid another trip to the Geek Squad. I prefer the latter as I'm not an auditory learner. Also, when I called, a special use code was requested, which I don't have. Where can I find that information? Thank you, Sandra L.

While at Best Buy in Rock Hill, SC on 7/11/22, I overheard a geek recommending Webroot as the best protection available. However, after switching to Totaltech, I was moved from Webroot to Trend Micro, which led to issues with my Macbook Air's Time Machine not saving properly. Despite contacting Apple for help and having Malwarebytes installed, I found that Trend Micro was causing the Time Machine to drop out during saves. I noticed that with Trend Micro turned off, the Time Machine worked fine. It's puzzling why the switch was made from Webroot to Trend Micro with Totaltech, especially when Trend Micro doesn't catch everything and interferes with the Time Machine function.

I need assistance from the Geek Squad to complete a job that was started yesterday. I own two iPhones and a Dell desktop PC running Windows 10. My Best Buy Total Tech account was renewed on 6/24/22 and is associated with my hardline phone number, [redacted], but my preferred contact number for Geek Squad is [redacted] (cell). The issue I am facing is with Microsoft Outlook, which has stopped working on the iPhones but is functioning on the PC. Yesterday, Agent Zoe V. and Agent Valigonda D. were reinstalling Microsoft Office on the PC when I had to leave. I believe the second agent completed the reinstall of MS Office on the PC. To resolve the problem, the remaining task is to set up a new password for Outlook on the PC and then configure the same password on both iPhones so that all three devices can access Outlook emails. Thank you, Richard H. [redacted] (cell), [redacted]

Having trouble accessing my MacBook Air. After entering my password, the screen vibrates and doesn't unlock. The top-right corner displays icons for the keyboard, battery, and signal, but clicking on them doesn't do anything. The screen also has icons for shutdown, restart, and sleep at the bottom. I've tried restarting multiple times and entering the password repeatedly without success. Wondering if assistance can be provided over the phone or if I need to bring it in for repair. Thank you, Elizabeth D.

I received an email regarding my Geek Squad™ membership renewal. It mentioned that my device and internet shield protection services had expired and a charge of $[redacted].98 was processed. The email provided a contact number for assistance, which I called. The first call had a poor connection, and the representative claimed to be in California. I called again, and the connection improved, but the representative still claimed to be in California and asked if I wanted a refund. When I inquired about the account used for the charge, they mentioned my bank account and requested access to Google Chrome for a refund. This raised suspicions, leading me to report the incident to the FBI Internet Crime Center. - Sherrie B.

A week ago, my desktop computer Outlook software stopped receiving new messages. Despite two Geek Squad sessions, the issue is only partially resolved. While I can initially see the new messages when I open Outlook, they disappear while using the application. Today, when I contacted Geek Squad, I was escalated to a higher-level technician who repeated the diagnostic tests. However, the technician has now stopped responding, leaving me staring at the diagnostic results with no further assistance. I'm concerned that the technician may have abandoned the session, and I'm unsure if I should continue waiting or if the problem will ever be fully resolved.

Hello, my name is Patrice. I have been trying to get Geek Squad to refund the money they took from me for a protection plan on a laptop that doesn't exist. It's been almost three months, and despite numerous calls and even speaking to a manager in person, they seem to be ignoring my request. Every time I contact them, they say it will take 3-5 days, but it's almost three months now with no refund in sight. I just want my money back, and it's frustrating that they can't provide a valid reason for the delay. The claim number for my complaint is [redacted]-[redacted]-94.

I've been waiting for 19 days for a response about my computer I took to the Geek Squad. Despite no phone call or email, I went in person to find there's only one tech, unable to fix it, offering to ship it out for $[redacted] or more. Unacceptable. You need to hire more techs. This experience has left me heartbroken, angry, and in tears. I've lost everything and now, without a computer. I'm using someone else's. I'm extremely frustrated; this isn't how you should conduct business. I need to speak with someone in charge to resolve this, or I will file a complaint with the BBB or FCC.
