I successfully installed software on my laptop, and Geek Squad conducted a remote session to set up my printer's wireless connection. However, after the session, they didn't call to confirm if the printer worked wirelessly. I discovered there was no internet connection to test it. Geek Squad suggested charging for a home visit when the issue stemmed from the lost internet service during their remote setup. They should have contacted me post-session to ensure the printer's functionality, as promised. Since the problem wasn't resolved remotely and took up significant time during my move, I believe I deserve a complimentary in-home visit from Geek Squad. - B. Corak

I did not receive a confirmation for my purchase in [redacted], and I was surprised to see an unauthorized auto-bill in [redacted] with a significant rate increase. I explicitly did not authorize any auto-renewal. I am requesting copies of both emails related to these charges for my records. I will be reaching out again for corrections and refunds for [redacted]. I recently discovered I had Geek Squad, but due to financial constraints as a retired individual, I did not intend to renew. I previously called customer service regarding this issue, but I never received the promised emails. This message serves as my formal written request, and I will be monitoring my email closely for your response until this matter is resolved.

I am facing issues with my Samsung 4K smart TV as the memory is full, preventing me from reinstalling the Spectrum app directly. I had to resort to using a thumb drive due to lack of storage on the TV. Despite having apps like YouTube and YouTube for Kids, I cannot remove unwanted apps or clear the cache. On November 3, [redacted], I found that Spectrum cannot be loaded from the thumb drive anymore, even though I've tried loading it multiple times before. It's frustrating that the app disappears regularly from the thumb drive. Despite my attempts, I have been unsuccessful in loading Spectrum or YouTube from different places on the Samsung screens today. Unfortunately, purchasing a new TV is not an option for me at the moment. -Gail S.

My Dell Inspiron [redacted] 2n1 laptop purchased from Best Buy Akron Montrose in Spring [redacted] is experiencing issues with the Dell Update function. Every week, I run Windows Update and Dell Update. On Nov 4, while Windows Update was unsuccessful, Dell Update failed to complete and disappeared. SupportAssist ran without issues but generated an "Unexpected Error" when trying to run Available Updates. I seek help to restore Dell Update's functionality. If possible, I prefer a remote repair over in-store service. The laptop functions well otherwise.

I recently deleted an email address on Outlook.com, expecting it to be removed immediately. However, I was surprised to find out that it won't be fully deleted until December 30. As a result, many features in Outlook are now disabled because the email address hasn't been activated. I created a new email address to replace the old one and I don't want to use the old address anymore. Strangely, emails that were not showing up before in the deleted account are now appearing. I originally had linked accounts with Gmail, so both Outlook and Gmail are showing up. I plan to delete the Gmail account, but I'm not ready to do that just yet.

On December 3rd, we received an email from the Best Buy Geek Squad about our Service subscription expiring on that day, with a receipt indicating a $[redacted].00 renewal. We were away on a special trip and just returned this weekend. We were surprised by the email as we didn't realize we had an agreement with the Geek Squad. I checked our credit card statement and didn't find any related charges, leading me to believe it might be a scam. Can you please verify the legitimacy of Invoice #SD47457 and receipt #[redacted]0? I am Judy R., reachable at [redacted] Your assistance in confirming this matter is greatly appreciated.

I recently received a text message claiming my Geek Squad subscription was renewed for $[redacted].99 and to call a specific number. Despite no longer having the computer, I called the number provided and realized it was not an official Geek Squad message. I wanted to alert others to this scam attempt. Thankfully, no unauthorized charges have been made to my checking account related to this incident.

After the Geek Squad in Waterford, CT replaced the battery on my iPhone 6s Plus, I noticed that both cameras, the flashlight, and the ear speaker were not functioning. Despite my concerns that the flex cables may have been affected during the replacement, the technician assured me it was not a possibility. However, upon researching, I found that disconnecting the flex cables is required during the battery replacement process. When I revisited the store, another technician also declined to check the cables. Given that the cameras, flashlight, and ear speaker were working before the battery replacement, I believe the Geek Squad should ensure they are functional post-replacement, including any necessary repairs for damages caused by the service. Furthermore, the receipt indicates that Apple's diagnostics could not be performed outside of the IOS, which raises concerns about the thoroughness of the service provided. I am requesting the Geek Squad to restore my phone to full functionality as it was prior to the battery replacement.

Since November [redacted], I've had issues accessing files on my two external hard drives after I got my computer back from the store. The hard drives don't show up when I click on the start button. I attempted to delete and reinstall the external hard drive driver, but it didn't resolve the problem. In addition, following a failed reinstallation of Webroot by The Geek Squad in November, I unfortunately fell victim to a scam in early December [redacted], losing over $[redacted] to someone pretending to be from the Geek Squad. This scammer even added a phone number to my taskbar. I have no intention of contacting that number and wish to have it removed from my homepage.

I recently received an email regarding a Geek Squad order that I did not make. The email instructed me to call [redacted] for a refund of $[redacted]. When I contacted the number, the person on the line requested access to my computer for the refund, which seemed suspicious, so I declined and ended the call. I have double-checked my credit card accounts and found no such purchase. I asked the individual for the last 4 digits of the supposed credit card but was denied. The email was sent by someone named Sullivan Gerald from the email address [redacted] It's concerning to think about how many people might fall for this scam. I urge the necessary measures to be taken to prevent others from being deceived in the future.

After using my Apple iPad Air for eight years without any issues, I accidentally dropped it, causing the digitizer touch screen to crack. Although I could still power it on and see the screen, I failed to back it up on iTunes at that time. I purchased a replacement screen from eBay, removed the damaged screen, and installed the new one. However, upon turning on the iPad, the LCD screen appeared blurry and streaked, rendering it unreadable. I attempted to back up to iTunes, yet without a clear display, I couldn't proceed with the confirmation. Subsequently, I obtained a new LCD screen, yet after installation, only the touch button for Siri functioned, leaving me unable to power off the iPad. I am now seeking guidance on whether it is possible to salvage the data from my current iPad.

I recently received an email from someone claiming to be the Geek Squad. The email was sent by [redacted] and included the following information: RENEWED_#[redacted], OrderID: - GKBS/[redacted]. The email stated that I requested to upgrade my Geek Squad service from the free version to a paid 2-year subscription for $[redacted].99, which was deducted from my account/card. This seems like a fraudulent attempt as I haven't had any recent interactions with Best Buy or the Geek Squad.

I own a [redacted] MacBook Pro and I've been experiencing some issues with it lately. My son mentioned using Malwarebytes for protection, but I opted to try MacKeeper instead. I wanted a scan to check for any problems like duplicate files and clean up the system, but things took a turn for the worse. The person who attempted to help me ended up causing more issues, claiming there was a problem with Safari. Despite several attempts by different individuals, my problem persists. I was advised to use a portable hard drive, had items downloaded without explanation, and even had my operating system changed without the contents of the hard drive being restored. This has made saving documents, especially important medical articles, difficult for me. I've used Geek Squad in the past but I'm hesitant to pay for services upfront without a guarantee of problem resolution. Sincerely, Lee W. Email: [redacted]

I received a text message today and an email yesterday from Geek Squad informing me that my tech support was being renewed for $[redacted]. However, in another email yesterday, they stated the renewal cost was $[redacted].99 and provided me with a renewal ID KY09-O-[redacted]. To cancel, I was given a customer support phone number at [redacted]. Upon calling, I became suspicious when they directed me to VSCARE.US. When I questioned their lack of interest in my renewal ID, the interaction turned hostile after I expressed concerns about potential scam activity targeting Best Buy and Geek Squad customers. I urge an investigation into this phone number and the individuals attempting to deceive customers.

On February 2nd, the Geek Squad visited my home to install an EERO, resolve signal issues, and set up my Roku. While they successfully set up the Roku, there was no sound coming from the sound bar. Despite their efforts, the signal loss issue persisted after the air handler for the heater turned off. Initially recommending one EERO, they convinced me to purchase three more, bringing the total to four. Unfortunately, the signal continued to drop even after their departure, affecting my devices. Although they assured me everything was resolved before leaving, the problem reoccurred. With other professionals ruling out electrical issues, I am requesting the Geek Squad to revisit and address the ongoing signal problem promptly, allowing me time to return the devices if unnecessary.

I received the following email stating that my annual subscription for the PC Protection Plan has been renewed without my authorization. The email confirms the payment of $[redacted].99 for the service plan, covering 5 devices including cell phones, through direct debit. It urges me to contact them within 2 business days if I believe there is an error to avoid future unauthorized charges. However, I want to clarify that I have never signed up for Geek Protection Shield or PC Health Check Up with Geek Squad tech support. I suspect this email might be a phishing attempt. Can someone confirm if this account is legitimate or not?
