Yesterday, my FB account got suspended because of a post that supposedly broke their hate speech rules. The post contained a term deemed offensive targeted at individuals who believe in owning a large amount of firearms and ammunition, alongside a picture of some US military aircraft. Today, just after the initial suspension ended, they suspended me again for the same photo and reason, claiming it was another instance of hate speech. This feels like facing double punishment. How can a picture of US military planes, which I contribute to financially, be labeled as hate speech? A week ago, I discovered that someone had impersonated a friend of mine on Messenger. The impersonator messaged me after we had seen each other at a high school reunion, making it seem legitimate. However, the imposter later tried to involve me in a grant scam involving the World Bank or IMF. I reported the situation to Facebook, and they closed the fake account. Despite this, I am disappointed that Facebook has not reached out to address how their platform is vulnerable to such criminal activities through impersonation. I have also reported the incident to the FTC and the Attorney General of the State of Maryland. If you have any recommendations on other places I can report this issue, I would appreciate it.
